What prompted Napoli to sack a coach!
An Italian press report revealed the Naples management had decided the fate of coach Carlo Ancelotti during the past few hours.
Naples suffered under Ancelotti leadership recently, as they have not won in the last 9 games in various competitions.
According to the Sky Sport Italia network, the Napoli administration decided to dismiss Ancelotti and appoint Gennaro Gattuso, the former coach of Milan.
"It was believed that Napoli's victory over Genk in the Champions League on Tuesday might have saved Ancelotti, but the decision was already taken."
And increased: "Gattuso has signed a contract with Naples for 18 months."
Ancelotti appears to be aware of this decision, as he stated this evening during a press conference: "I am neither afraid nor annoyed that the club will dismiss me one day or leave.
If certain circumstances exist, they must continue together, otherwise it is correct that we end our engagement. "
