“I think soccer is a great game because it brings people together. It doesn’t matter where you come from or what language you speak, soccer unites everyone.” – Marco Van Basten
There is something fantastic about football, it unites people. It is incredible, but if you love football, then you love the game, and no matter where you are in the world, if you find a pitch with players on it, you have something that unites you and that can give you friends and co-players within a few minutes, even though you don't know anyone nor the language.

I have experienced this several times myself as I go to different football fields. I might not know anyone around, but the fact that we all love running after the ball unites us, and after playing together for thirty minutes, you already have friends and people with whom you can high-five and look forward to playing together with them in the future as well.
Isn't that just wonderful? Football isn't the only sport that has this effect, I would say it is mostly true for any interest in the world... book lovers in a library can easy connect with other people who love reading, but still, the fact that football is about working together and playing in a team, makes it even easier to connect as you play together with people trying to reach the same goal!
