Winter's back - My Actifit Report Card: March 13 2025
The late season arrival of Old Man Winter has pushed the scheduled Sierra Prieta 50 km out to next weekend so it was back to a regular training day after ramping down my running intensity this week.
Lulu and I got an early start with a cool but clear hike all around Lynx Lake. We were treated to a very quiet hike as no other people were at the lake - however a beautiful Bald Eagle was circling over the lake occasionally diving down to try to snag a fish. The forecast was calling for rain to begin in the early afternoon for our morning hike went off without a hitch.
The rain had started shortly before I headed off for Granite Basin. Despite the chilly and miserable weather I hit the familiar trails feeling strong and I cruised along the trails at a nice pace. The surrounding hills were cloaked in a thick fog that added to the chilly and damp beauty.
I ended up with 6 and a half miles as the snow began to fall and the rest of the day covered us with several inches of snow
Hopefully it will clear quickly so that I can get back to getting us ready to move.
