My Actifit Report Card: July 13 2024

I headed over to the beautiful forest around Granite Basin Lake for a tougher bit of running with a bit over 2 miles on the rolling trails. I felt pretty good although the ups and downs combined with a couple of steep (but short) rocky patches had me pretty winded and sweaty at the finish.
My morning walk with Lulu was our usual quiet and relaxed Saturday effort. My wife didn't go with us so it was a quicker pace with an extra loop on the dirt thrown in.

I wanted to get a nice run so Lulu was stuck at home. There were a good number of people already out hiking but I only crossed paths at the start, otherwise I had the forest to myself.
Despite the temperature being 90 degrees even up in the Basin I felt good as I started out. The trail quickly climbed so my pace wasn't great but I easily cruised downhills before I hit a couple hundred yards of narrow and rocky trail.
From there it was easier rolling dirt roads that looped me back around to the trailhead.
Not a long run but it was a nice effort and hopefully I'll do more trail work tomorrow.
