My Actifit Report Card: June 12 2024

We headed back to the upstream section of Lynx Creek for a cooler but still rigorous hike through the forest.

An easy 2 miles early this morning to get the day started before the heat settled in. We had the roads and field to ourselves ànd it was an easy walk before we headed out.
There weren't many people outdoors it seemed, probably because the temperature was heading up towards the high 90s and the extreme dry weather meant the forest service was starting fire restrictions.
The first mile was an easy steady downhill to the rapidly drying creek (at least the rocky sections upstream would still have some nice pools of cool water).


After covering around 2 miles hiking up into the narrower Lynx ravine we paused for an hour or so so that I could check out my metal detector while Lulu found a shady spot to watch and rest.
From there it was the return trip but of course that meant a steady ascent back up to the car but at least the road was wide and easy for us both.
Hopefully it will be cooler for a few hours at the creek tomorrow.
