DARK ARTS FC
I find it amazingly funny when rival fans claim Arsenal can't score goals or win games from open play . In fact their voices sounded louder when the Gunners defeated ManUtd at the Emirates 2-0 . Both goals were scored from set-piecies and I couldn't just fathom the complaints of most United fans banting the Gunners by saying they got beaten by two foolish corners. Isn't this appalling ? I mean since when has scoring goals by set pieces become forbidden in football?? . I just don't seem to understand why Arsenal seems to be on everyone's lips , I mean for a team they consider to be bottlers the attention is really way too much .
Now Arsenal is being likened to the Stoke City managed by Toni Pulis at that time . Those years Stoke City were famous for scoring goals from set-piecies especially through throw-ins by who else , Rory Delap, do y'll remember him?! . Way back then no one raised an eyebrow about Stoke City's set-piecies prowess but when it comes to Arsenal it becomes a sentimental topic .
A friend of mine who we both gist and rant about football who happens to be a united fan too messaged me and said the same thing . On seeing his message I couldn't hide my disappointment about him being part of the bandwagon saying Arsenal is Dark Arts Fc.
I'm honestly sick and tired of all these baseless bants from rival fans . Anything worth doing at all is worth doing well , so these bants shouldn't be watery because they actually lack substance. I always tell my fellow friends that are Arsenal fans , "the best reply to shut these bitter rival fans up is copping a trophy", a prestigious one at that .
What I enjoy most about this funny scenario is the fact that as each match comes the Gunners makes scoring from set-piecies a light work . I mean game after game we keep showing why we're the Corner Kings, Lool!! . Our last epl match against Fulham saw us snatch an equalizer through a corner kick.
Arsenal play pretty good football anytime, any day. Football is about scoring goals to win , how the goals come absolutely do not matter. For corners to happen it means the opposing team is on the offensive which says a lot about the other team .
The Gunners yesterday scored three goals from open play in their Champions league match against Monaco. Arsenal beat their French opponents by three goals to nothing . I wonder what these rival fans would say now??!! , " ohh what a fluke " , "I bet this won't happen in their next five matches" etc...
The Gunners are placed third place in the CL standings as well as third in the Epl standings . All I want now is less attention focused on the Gunners . I really do not expect much this season from the Gunners ,(not to sound pessimistic )but I feel the boys and Arteta can just somehow pull out something. If our guesses are right or wrong , we'll get to find out in some months time.
