BREAKING THE JINX: Arsenal's Ambitious Transfer Moves and the Path to Glory
Waking up to the news of Arsenal signing Declan Rice was indeed a great way to kick-start my day . The Declan Rice transfer move to Arsenal from Westham utd over the past few months has been on the constant watch by the media houses, Arsenal fans as well as rival fans. It seems as if the Arsenal board listened to my rants on here the last time I posted about Arsenal's business in the current transfer market . https://hive.blog/hive-101690/@typebox/assessing-arsenal-s-transfer-approach-hopes-concerns-and-the-need-for-reinforcement
It is understood Arteta is indeed keen to add Declan Rice to the gunners fold as he played an instrumental part at conversing with the player personally . It is clear he made Declan Rice understand the role he will be playing in Arsenal's quest to clinching a trophy this forthcoming season .
This will be Arsenal's second signing which is the highest signing so far for the North London club. A sum of £100M with £5M add-ons was splashed on the former Westham starman to bring him to the Emirates.
As a result of this buzz, trust rival fans to downplay this massive transfer move .
So it's a case of when Arsenal don't get our number one targets;"Arsenal have no ambition!".When Arsenal for once actually pay big for our main target: "Arsenal have overpaid!" .They always move the goalposts for us.
You just can’t play down the significance of Arsenal signing Declan Rice. It’s a huge deal on so many levels and says so much about the path the club is on that they have managed to do it. Big money brings big pressure, but really think Rice will handle it. Exciting times
I really don’t care what others say . Arsenal have been active and getting heir deals done early in the transfer window unlike previous windows . I like this Arsenal in the transfer window .
You know we're on the way back when the media find a flaw in signing a player the calibre of Rice.
The simple thing is every club in England would have him in their team and the fact he chose us is killing them. Been a long time since we were able to compete financially like this.
It's so funny how quickly it went from "if City get Rice, it's over for everyone else" to "Rice is so overrated" . But I love the hate ! We'd be doing something wrong if everybody loved us.
It's a good signing for the club, but let's not go overboard! It's significant because the club has broken the £100m barrier, but as a player, there's work that needs to be done. Let's see what he can bring to the club.
With these kind of buys and bloating wages, this is surely a developmental path that's not even remotely sustainable. I hope, for the sake of the future of this immaculate club, this blockbuster show doesn't become the norm. I hope Rice is a one-off case of necessary exception.
Can’t believe what my club is doing this summer! Absolute madness, spending money is one thing but when you combine it with the way Arteta has us playing and getting our top players to resign new contracts ,that's amazing if you ask me.
Arsenal used to be known as the Bank of England club. They've always been well run financially, & I think this change in terms of spending is a reward for Mikel Arteta in terms of his ability to get them into those CL places again, which means so much in terms of enhanced revenue.
No doubt Arteta has spent quite a fortune in his three and a half stint at Arsenal. His spendings has improved the team in all ramifications. This summer he has acquired the services of Kai Havertz for £65M and will soon sign Ajax man , Jurrien Timber for £45M . It is indeed looking scary, but not for us .
We should be demanding now that we at least challenge for these trophies . The owners have invested heavily and given Arteta time to insert his image . It's high time Arsenal Fc broke the jinx of mediocrity and actually gun for undiluted glory .
