That is a very helpful feature indeed. I should use Brave more. I do almost everything in Vivaldi, on both my computer and my phone. π π π β¨ π€

That feature on Brave Browser is off by default, though it will prompt you one time to enable it if the web browser notices that the number of tabs opened makes it occupy a huge portion of your device's RAM. π€π€π

That's a reasonable default, and prompt behavior to enable. It seems very logical. I dig it. πππβ¨π€

Maybe those users whose computers have at least 32 GB of RAM won't encounter such prompt on their web browser. π€ππ€

Well, my laptop has 32GB of RAM, so I'm curious if I would see that prompt if I used Brave more regularly. π π π β¨ π€

Sounds like your laptop with 32 GB of RAM is not old enough, as the RAM on laptops are usually welded onto the motherboard and therefore cannot be upgraded (easily). π€π€―
Maybe open a whole lot of apps at the same time on your laptop so that your chances of seeing the prompt from the web browser are higher! π€π

It's a fairly recent, 2021, ASUS TUF F15. Soldered RAM is not really that common, as I've upgraded the RAM on a great many, both mine and those of others. I think it's in some of the lower-end models, but in my many years of working with computers, both desktops and laptops, I've never seen it.
I almost always have many apps open at any particular time, usually the same ones, and with a Qortal node running that can use 50% of my total RAM, and it does bog down a little sometimes. Yes, I'd also need to open lots of tabs in Brave, as because I rarely use it, it has maybe one or two opened. π π π β¨ π€

I didn't expect you to say that you upgrade the RAM of (the laptop) computers of other people, as well as you have already spent many years of working with (desktop and laptop) computers. π€π€―
Your #Qortal node using up about 50% of the free RAM (which is 16 GB) of your laptop sounds huge! π€― Renting a VPS for such purpose would practically be worth more than $15. π€―πΈπ

Hahaha...well, the topic didn't really come up, so I had no reason to mention it, but yeah, I've been a tech geek for many many years now.
Well, I can adjust how much RAM that it can use, but 50% was a percentage where my node does the best. It was 40%, but I still had issues, so I tested it at 50%, and it was notably more stable. Perhaps, but as I've said, I like to have full control over my setup and system. π π π β¨ π€

My only assumption about your knowledge of computers was that you manage to use the Arch Linux OS on your laptop and prefer open-source versions of apps, so fixing the hardware of other people's computers as well as your own wasn't what I expected that you do. π€π€―
Maybe putting the RAM usage of your #Qortal node to 60% of your laptop's RAM may make it more stable, though less RAM will be available for the other apps on your laptop. π€―π€
I wonder what's on your comment that made "autocorrect" make you type

Ah, OK, I understand. Being a tech geek means that I know way more about computers than pretty much everybody that I know, so people ask me to help them with technology, both software and hardware (sometimes even firmware), quite often.
At 50%, especially with the new test version of the core, my Qortal node has been running very smoothly, thankfully, so no need to set it to 60%.
Yeah, that was supposed to be 'was'. π π π β¨ π€

Well, I didn't say that. If I actually put focus into learning coding languages, I'm sure that I could learn them quite a bit more quickly than the majority of people. I learn most things quickly, which is very helpful in many domains. πππβ¨π€

Yeah, I understand, but I learn by doing, and everything that I've learned about software and hardware has come from diving in and figuring things out for myself. Coding, as opposed to scripting, is just not something that I've explored too deeply yet.
It's a good question. Honestly I've been juggling so much, and I've filled my time so densely, that I haven't been learning any major new skill for a while, aside from small daily things. That bothers me, because I always want to be learning something. π π π β¨ π€

It would !INDEED help if you allot a given period of time (such as an hour) exclusively for programming, so that you don't get distracted by other activities while you are learning. π€π
