Jurgen Klopp heaps praises on Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk

In a recent statement, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped praises on Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk. According to the German tactician, he insisted that Van Dijk has got back the form that made him the best defender in Europe.

Van Dijk's transfer

Four years ago, Liverpool announced the signature of the German defender from fellow English side Southampton. A deal that proved to be very instrumental in the transformation of the Anfield giants and a dreaded team in English Premier League. The Dutchman went on to be instrumental, as Liverpool went on to lift the Premier League and Champions League title in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

The Van Dijk's influence

The defensive abilities of Virgil Van Dijk can never be overlooked. His absence from the team season due to a ligament injury shows how the impact of Van Dijk in the team cannot beat overemphasized. They even exited the champions league in the Quarter final stages. More to that, without Van Dijk, Liverpool struggled to even claim a top four Finnish in the Premier League. For a certainty, Van Dijk remains a power house in whatever Liverpool look to accomplish.

Asides from one of two rough patches this season, Liverpool have shown that they can challenge for the Premier league title. Although they have a major obstacle in Manchester City. But, provided their key players stay fit, Jurgen Klopp's men would have a go for the title.
