My Actifit Report Card: November 5 2022
On 5 November 1970, the single "Immigrant Song" by the British band Led Zeppelin was released.
Although the title of the song might suggest that the lyrics are dedicated to immigrants, the reality is that this song is about the Viking voyages when they were trying to discover and conquer unknown lands and was composed after a visit by the band to Iceland for a concert.
With a rhythmic base and devastating guitar riffs and Robert Plant's voice in full swing, it is undoubtedly one of the most important songs of their entire career. Despite this, and perhaps because the band didn't agree to their record company releasing singles from their albums, they hardly played this song at their live shows.
