Enjoying a 10K Run
It had been a long time since I did a long run worth at least 10 km. It is not that it is an important distance but it is long enough to consider it as long given the level of training that I am doing lately.
In addition, I have chosen an unpaved circuit, on grass, soil, and mud, and quite irregular in its layout, very technical indeed, so I can almost consider it a quality training session.
The key has been to start calmly, going up the left bank of the river, with a gentle headwind, enjoying the scenery, and breathing clean air.
In addition, Enzo has enjoyed a lot chasing traces of native fauna everywhere.
As the kilometers passed and my legs got more used to their work, I progressively accelerated until I reached an average pace of 4'40"/km during the last 3 km. I've already told you that I didn't want to push myself too much but enjoy the run.
In the end, it was 10 km in 51 minutes, at an average pace of 5'08"/km and running in pure aerobic zone at an average of 146 bpm.
I finished the week having done 5 training sessions and with a little more than 35 km in my legs.
Not bad as a start to the season, although the ideal would be to increase the weekly mileage to about 40 or 45km.
A little later I'll post my "Proof of Run" for @strava2hive.
Keep on running!
Yeh I did notice that too..now you must be feeling proud
