Una introducción obligatoria.

Quizás, durante la Copa del Mundo Qatar 2022, algunas de mis publicaciones relacionadas con ella sean largas y me disculpo por ello. Lo hago para evitar hacer dos publicaciones diarias y respetar las reglas de la comunidad; a pesar de la flexibilidad, para esta etapa del mundial de fútbol. Siempre que sea posible lo haré así y esto se debe a que haré el análisis de un partido y en la segunda parte de la publicación tendré una sección, sobre lo mejor de la jornada anterior.

Favorita a ganar el mundial

Argentina es uno de los equipos que ha logrado ganar una Copa del Mundo. De hecho, ha llegado a cuatro, en dos de las cuales se ha proclamado campeona del mundo.

Para esta Copa del Mundo Leonel Scalonni, su director técnico, logró reunir un equipo competitivo que como novedad tiene a los jóvenes, como mayoría y que se han adaptado muy bien a los más experimentados como Nicolás Otamendi, Ángel Di María y Lionel Messi.

Es uno de los favoritos a ganar la competición y una de sus fortalezas está en la no dependencia del equipo de Messi y la no configuración del juego en torno al 10 argentino, lo que le ha dado buenos resultados al cuadro albiceleste. En otras palabras: Este equipo puede jugar y ganar con Messi o sin él.

La Cenicienta del grupo

Arabia Saudita se encuentra en el lugar 51 del ranking de la FIFA muy lejos del tercer lugar de su rival de turno y apenas, está jugando su sexta Copa del Mundo, en las que tiene como mejor actuación la de Estados Unidos 1994, cuando se clasificó para octavos de final instancia en la que fue eliminada por Suecia.
No tiene jugadores de renombres en ligas internacionales y su selección es de las más modestas en esta copa del mundo.

Jugadores y ligas.

Los jugadores argentinos juegan en las mejores ligas del mundo, lo que se traduce en que sus jugadores tienen un mejor bagaje profesional, pues se enfrentan a los mejores futbolistas del mundo diseminados por las ligas de España, Inglaterra, Francia, Argentina, entre otras.

Por su parte, la mayoría de los jugadores de Arabia Saudita juegan en su liga nacional; algo que a nivel competitivo no debe favorecer al equipo árabe, pues esta liga no está entre las más destacadas a nivel mundial y su equipo sólo ha logrado triunfar en Copas de Asia.

Partido Argentina vs Arabia Saudita.

Este es el primer encuentro de ambos equipos y según los pronósticos deben ocupar el primero y el último puesto de la competición, pues tanto Argentina, México y Polonia tienen más recorrido, mejores equipos, más historia y mejor posicionamiento en el ranking de la FIFA. A todas luces estamos hablando del Rey y la Cenicienta.

Previa de la competición.

Argentina llegó a este torneo en condiciones inmejorables, pues, además del gran equipo que logró conformar tenían 36 partidos sin perder, algo que solo Italia ha logrado superar con 37. Otro elemento positivo para el equipo es la excelente forma física de su equipo y la alta cuota goleadora mostrada en los partidos precedentes y en su última presentación antes del mundial le habían marcado una manita a los Emiratos Árabes Unidos.

Los de Arabia Saudita han tenido una situación diferente a la de Argentina, pero en los partidos previos a esta competición han tenido resultados aceptables y ha resaltado su defensa logrando permitir muy pocos goles. En su última presentación venció a la selección de Omán por 1 gol a 0.

El último enfrentamiento entre estas selecciones data de 2012 y fue un amistoso que culminó con empate a 0. El global histórico favorece a los de Sudamérica.

**¿Qué sucedió entonces?

El encuentro.**

Argentina salió con un equipo de lujo y planteó un esquema 4 2 3 1, muy ofensivo y teniendo en cuenta las virtudes de sus jugadores. Este fue su 11 inicial:

Emiliano Martínez, Nicolás Otamendi, Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Nicolás Tagliafico, Leandro Paredes, Rodrigo De Paul, Alejandro Gómez, Ángel Di María, Lionel Messi, y Lautaro Martínez.

Por su parte Arabia Saudita salió con sus titulares y esquema de juego bien estudiado y aprendido que tuvo en la defensa su plan táctico preferido, por tal razón el técnico planteó un 4 4 1 1. El 11 inicial del equipo:

Mohammed Alowais, Hassam Al Tambakti, Saud Abdul Hamid, Salem Al Dawsari, Firas Al Brikan, Ali Albulayi, Al Shahrani, Abdulelah Al Malki, Saleh Al Shehri

Primer tiempo

Fue un tiempo que inició con dominio argentino y a los tres minutos tuvo el primer aviso de la albiceleste cuando su capitán Lionel Messi hizo un tiro raso, tras un gran desborde del flaco Di María, que fue bien atajado por el portero Al Owais. Todo iba viento en popa, para la tropa de Scalonni que atacaba y Arabia se defendía hasta que en el minuto 8 tras un córner el video arbitral (VAR) le pidió al principal que fuera a revisar un posible penalti. La revisión concluyó que había pena máxima y esta fue cobrada por el 10 argentino quien anotó, para la victoria parcial de su equipo.

Después del gol considero que hubo un dominio casi total de Arabia Saudita, pues sus jugadores adelantaron filas e incluso tuvieron algunas jugadas de peligro, pero este impulso saudí duró hasta el susto del minuto 22, en el que los argentinos cogieron mal ubicados a los defensores contrarios y tras pase a Messi este anotó, pero estaba en posición adelantada.

El dominio de Argentina continuaba y a los minutos 28 y 33 Lautaro Martínez anotó, pero al igual que Messi estaba fuera de lugar, por lo que los goles fueron anulados.

Así culminó el primer tiempo, con dominio argentino en el juego y en el marcador. Todo marchaba, según lo previsto.

Segundo tiempo

Este ha sido uno de esos partidos en los que he visto que al parecer se han cambiado los papeles y el equipo favorito y que mejor ha jugado baja su rendimiento, cambia su forma de jugar y termina pagando caro sus errores.

Solo bastaron 7 minutos, para que Arabia Saudita le diera vuelta al partido. En ambos casos fueron tras robo de balones y pasividad de la defensa argentina, pero en ambos casos fueron goles de muy buena factura que hacían parecer a los de Arabia los verdaderos argentinos.

En el minuto 60 Scalonni hizo tres cambios tratando de dinamizar el ataque, controlar el centro del campo y mejorar su defensa, pero nada de esto ocurrió y tras dominio alterno, malas decisiones del árbitro principal, estrategia para ganar tiempo por los árabes e incapacidad de sus jugadores, para, al menos rescatar un punto, culminó el partido con la victoria impensada de 2 goles por 1, para consumar la primera gran sorpresa del mundial.

Mi resumen del partido.

Estos son los elementos que quiero resaltar del encuentro:

•Este partido tuvo dos momentos diferentes, uno de dominio argentino incapaz de materializar la superioridad y otro de superioridad de Arabia Saudita que sí fue efectiva y contundente en sus tiros a puertas, pues de tres disparos 2 fueron goles.

•Argentina fue incapaz de descifrar el planteamiento táctico del equipo contrario y no hubo una conexión coherente, entre el medio campo y la delantera.

•La defensa argentina se mostró pasiva, ante los pocos ataques de los {árabes y los dos goles demostraron la incapacidad del medio campo para pasar del ataque a la defensa y la endeblez de la defensa albiceleste.

•La defensa de Arabia Saudita estuvo de maravillas e hicieron gala de su excelente colocación al lograr que los argentinos tuvieran 10 fuera de juegos en todo el partido, 7de ellos en el primer tiempo.

•El esquema de Scalonni no funcionó y a juicio del autor debe buscar las variantes necesarias, para cambiarle la cara al equipo.

•A Argentina le faltó fortaleza sicológica, para afrontar el resultado, lo que a la larga les pasó factura.

•El autor considera que Ángel Di María debió ser cambiado en el segundo tiempo, sobre todo, después del minuto 60, pues su físico no le daba para más.

•En el segundo tiempo Argentina se empeñó en el juego, por la banda derecha, con Di María y le lanzaban los pases tratando que desbordara a su defensa, para que este hiciera llegar el balón a los delanteros, algo que casi no logró conseguir.

Golpe durísimo

De momento, Argentina no está eliminada, pero esta derrota supone un duro golpe en sus aspiraciones para avanzar porque son tres partidos, clasifican los dos primeros y los dos partidos que le resta son con los equipos más duros del grupo. De momento deben pensar, como la España de 2010 que perdió el primer juego del mundial y terminó alzando la Copa.

Mis consideraciones, sobre lo mejor de la segunda jornada.

Intentaré dar mi criterio, sobre algunos elementos de la jornada anterior y que el lector puede o no estar de acuerdo con ellos, pero lo hago, para conformar, como siempre hago, mis tesoros de las Copas del Mundo.

A partir de lo anterior, aquí les dejo mis consideraciones, sobre lo mejor de la jornada:

•Equipo de la jornada: Inglaterra: este equipo jugó de maravillas, encantó, dominó en todas las fases del juego y demostró el protagonismo de los jóvenes en su equipo. Los ingleses atacaron por las bandas y arrollaron a los iraníes. Se nota que su director ha trabajado bien el equipo y que el cuarto lugar del mundial anterior (Rusia 2018) ni el subcampeonato de la Eurocopa fueron obra de la casualidad. Este equipo está, para llegar lejos.

•Partido de la jornada:*** Estados Unidos vs Gales.*** El partido culminó igualado, pero Estados Unidos fue mejor y mereció ganar, pero en el deporte las victorias no se merecen, se logran. Gales fue fiel a su estilo y esperó y esperó y tuvo su premio en la experiencia y capacidad de su estrella Garet Bale quien provocó un penalti y lo convirtió.

•Jugador de la jornada: Buyako Saca. El jugador del Club Arsenal de la Premier continúa su buen andar en esta temporada y anotó dos de los seis goles de su equipo. Junto a Bellingam tuvieron un protagonismo marcado en el juego desplegado por los ingleses y tuvo su premio con los tantos anotados.

De tal manera: Inglaterra le ganó 6 por 2 a Irán, Estados Unidos y Gales empataron a un gol y Países Bajos le ganó a Senegal 2 por cero. En el caso de los tulipanes dejaron más dudas que certezas, pues los africanos son un equipo inferior a ellos y se vio disminuido, con la salida de su estrella Sadio Mane.

•Lo peor de la jornada: Los 6 goles encajados por Irán. El equipo asiático fue incapaz de contener el ataque de los ingleses y recibieron una tremenda goleada que los pone en una situación muy difícil en caso de empate con otro miembro del grupo, pues ya tienen cuatro goles en contra.

•Mejor Jugador joven: Bellingam. Este jugador demostró la tremenda calidad que tiene. Atacó, condujo, regaló pases, defendió y anotó el primer gol de los ingleses. Sin lugar a dudas, estamos en presencia de uno de los jugadores jóvenes llamado a ocupar uno de los lugares de privilegios en el escenario futbolístico mundial de los próximos años.

Una reflexión final.

Esta Copa del Mundo está demostrando que no hay enemigos pequeños y que los pronósticos están para romperse. De esto se encargó Arabia Saudita al derrotar a la poderosa Argentina 2 goles por 1 y poner en peligro la clasificación albiceleste, para la próxima ronda.

Otro elemento distintivo de lo que va del mundial es el protagonismo que van asumiendo los jugadores jóvenes. En el caso del equipo inglés el director técnico ha apostado por ellos y en el primer encuentro le dio buenos resultados. Desde ya Bellingam y Buyaco Saka pugnarán por ser el Mejor Jugador Joven del Mundial.

Queda mucho por andar todavía en este mundial, pero si Argentina y los equipos favoritos no quieren salir de la fiesta antes de tiempo deben demostrar sus favoritismos y ganar como lo hizo Inglaterra que desde ya lanzó una campanada y está lista, para avanzar a los puestos de privilegios de esta Copa del Mundo.

Perhaps, during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, some of my posts related to it will be long and I apologize for that. I do this to avoid making two posts a day and to respect the rules of the community; despite the flexibility, for this stage of the World Cup. Whenever possible I will do it this way and this is because I will do the analysis of a match and in the second part of the publication I will have a section on the best of the previous day.

Favorite to win the World Cup

Argentina is one of the teams that has managed to win a World Cup. In fact, it has reached four, in two of which it has been proclaimed world champion.

First Half

Second half

This has been one of those games in which I have seen that the roles have apparently changed and the favorite team and the one that has played the best has lowered its performance, changed its way of playing and ended up paying dearly for its mistakes.

It only took 7 minutes for Saudi Arabia to turn the game around. In both cases they were after stealing balls and passivity of the Argentine defense, but in both cases they were very good goals that made the Arabians look like the real Argentineans.

In the 60th minute Scalonni made three changes trying to dynamize the attack, control the midfield and improve their defense, but none of this happened and after alternating dominance, bad decisions by the main referee, strategy to gain time by the Arabs and inability of their players to at least rescue a point, the match ended with the unthinkable victory of 2 goals to 1, to consummate the first big surprise of the World Cup.

My summary of the match.

These are the elements I want to highlight from the match:

• This match had two different moments, one of Argentine dominance unable to materialize the superiority and another of superiority of Saudi Arabia that was effective and forceful in their shots on goal, because of three shots 2 were goals.

• Argentina was unable to decipher the tactical approach of the opposing team and there was no coherent connection between the midfield and the forwards.

• Saudi Arabia's defense was marvelous and showed their excellent positioning by making the Argentines have 10 offsides in the whole match, 7 of them in the first half.

• Argentina lacked psychological strength to face the result, which in the long run took its toll.

• The author considers that Ángel Di María should have been substituted in the second half, especially after the 60th minute, as his physical condition was too much for him.

Hard blow

For the moment, Argentina is not eliminated, but this defeat is a hard blow to their aspirations to advance because there are three matches, the first two qualify and the two remaining matches are with the toughest teams in the group. My thoughts on the best of the second day.

I will try to give my criteria, on some elements of the previous day and the reader may or may not agree with them, but I do it, to conform, as I always do, my treasures of the World Cups.

Based on the above, here are my thoughts on the best of the day:

• Team of the day: England: this team played wonderfully, they were charming, dominated in all phases of the game and showed the prominence of the young players in their team. The English attacked down the flanks and overwhelmed the Iranians. You can tell that their manager has worked the team well and that the fourth place in the previous World Cup (Russia 2018) nor the runner-up in the European Championship were the work of chance. A final thought.

This World Cup is proving that there are no small enemies and that predictions are to be broken. Saudi Arabia took care of this by defeating the powerful Argentina 2 goals to 1 and jeopardizing the albiceleste's qualification for the next round.

Another distinctive element of the World Cup so far is the prominence of young players. In the case of the English team, the technical director has bet on them and in the first match it gave him good results. Bellingam and Buyaco Saka will compete for the Best Young Player of the World Cup.

There is still a long way to go in this World Cup, but if Argentina and the favorite teams do not want to leave the party early, they must prove their favoritism and win as England did, and they are ready to advance to the privileged positions of this World Cup.
