La previa del partido estuvo matizada, por la salida de uno de los líderes del Madrid, un jugador que era referente dentro y fuera del terreno, querido y respetado en el vestuario. Este jugador formó parte de una de las etapas más gloriosas del equipo merengue, con el que consiguió numerosos títulos, entre los que se cuentan: 5 Champions League, 3 Ligas de España, 3 Supercopas de España, 3 Supercopas de Europa, una Copa del Rey y 3 Mundiales de Clubes. Otro elemento importante es haber formado un tridente, en el centro del campo de los mejores de la historia, su nombre Carlos Henrique Casemiro.

Con ese gol del croata Lucas Modrić el Real Madrid se fue en ventaja, sin haber jugado su mejor fútbol.

Este tiempo tuvo una dinámica diferente a la del primer periodo. Es de reconocer el juego colectivo del equipo merengue y la solidez del medio campo, la salida y conducción de Modrić, Camavinga y las recuperaciones y buen juego de Tchouameni. Todo lo anterior unido a la necesidad del Celta de Vigo de empatar el partido los agarró con la defensa adelantada, y en una recuperación de balón de Tchouameni, pase de este a Modrić y asistencia de este a Vinicius le hicieron una contra al Celta que culminó en gol de Vinicius y el 3-1. Era el minuto 56 y ya el equipo blanco tenía gestionado el partido a su favor. 10 minutos después Federico Valverde anotó el 4to gol del Madrid que pudieron ser 5 si Hazard no hubiese un penalti cedido por Benzema.

Considero que el Madrid jugó un buen partido de manera general y un segundo tiempo fenomenal.
El equipo demostró la grandeza que tiene al reponerse de la salida de Casemiro que supuso un golpe anímico, para todo el equipo.
