The FPL is Back - My Best Gameweek This Season
After a long break from the World Cup, the premier is back in action with some many thrilling matches over the week. And so the FPL is back, keeping the competition between the managers alive as ever. Before the break, all the FPL managers were given unlimited transfer to rebuild their squad over the World Cup break and the deadline was just 2 hours before the first kickoff in the premier league after World Cup.
Well, I didn’t rush to make any changes to my squad since I knew definitely some players might not return early due to injuries. So I waited last minute, that was on Sunday to make my transfers. I brought in a couple of players and sent out some too. In the strike position, I moved out Martial and Jesus then I brought in Mitrovic and Nketiah to replace them. In midfield, I replaced Trossard with Rashford because of his form over the last couple of games and in the world. Then I was able to transfer in Cucurella who replaced N.Williams in the defense and Alisson replaced Guaita.
At this point, my team was set for the next game week, I think…lol, all that I was uncertain with was the captaincy option. I was contemplating on whether to go with Rashford or Haaland or Mitrovic. In the end, I ending up giving it to Rashford. Thank God I made the right decision, I never seem to get it right with the captaincy option. Overall, I think most managers scored a lot of points in this gameweek since the average points scored was high too. I was able to swoop 102 points this week, which is currently my best in this season.
The highest in the game week, scored about 143 and as I said in my other post about the premiere league it has rained a lot of goals this week. One other advantage about the highest scorer for this week is that, he played his bench boost chip which brought him 38 points from the bench only… what a way to utilize your bench boost chip.
After scoring such high points this week, all I can see in my league groups was green everywhere and that’s what all FPL managers want to see after every gameweek. In my domestic league group, I even climbed to 1st position from 4th. I must admit, it is very good feeling sitting on top of my local leagues.
The overall standings though, is very tough to make it into even thousands and not to talk of hundreds. But with all that, I’m still impressed with my performance after moving from about 3 million to about 1.4 million position in the overall and I hope I can do even better.
Very soon, the next gameweek will start and I hope I can gain more points from this week. I’ve made only one transfer this week since I don’t want to get any deduction of points. I transferred in Rodrigo from Leeds United to replace Martinelli. Even though Martinelli gives me some points, I believe they are not going to be enough. He usually scores just 1 goal, and that’s it. With Rodrigo, I’m hoping he delivers points more. One more thing, this time I’ve decided to captain Haaland. He better delivers, even though I don’t like him but I can’t leave him out of my team.
I guess that’s all about it for now… man, it feels so great to finally sit at the top in at least one of the local leagues. I can’t imagine what it feels to sit on top of the overall.
Thank you for visiting this space, I hope we can discuss in the comments sections. Until then, I’ll see you on the next one, bye ✌🏾.
