RE: My Actifit Report Card: December 6 2024
You are viewing a single comment's thread:
Hi, I can see that you are a published author, so I would like to wish you good luck and inspiration in you book writing journey.
Apart from being a Hiver, I am also a translator.
Would you be interested in your books being translated into other languages, so you can increase your sales at no cost to you?
The model involves royalty-sharing on the translated copies sold.
Sorry for bothering you, I just thought you may be interested.

How do you do the translation?
There is a certain online platform that uses this model, and I have translated two books with it so far.
It's called Tektime, if you want to check it.
I only translate from English into Greek, which is my native language, but they have other languages available, too.
I am a professional translator.
Even if you are not interested in working with me, it could be worth checking this option for other languages and translators on that platform to increase your audience and sales.
I speak as a fellow Hiver, and secondly as a translator, because, to be honest with you, it is a big decision and commitment for me to get involved in a translation project that will take me months and considerable effort to finish, with the expected financial gains not always guaranteed.
However, an author can benefit from the option of having their books translated into multiple languages.
Cool. I'll check out the platform. Meanwhile, what kind of royalty split are we talking about?
I believe these are the rates at the moment:
From To Author Translator Tektime
€ 0,00 € 999,99 15% 75% 10%
€ 1.000 € 1.999,99 30% 60% 10%
€ 2.000 € 3.999,99 60% 30% 10%
€ 4.000 € 7.999,99 70% 20% 10%
€ 8.000 € ... 80% 10% 10%
as per the following link:
https://www.traduzionelibri.it/autori.asp?LinguaSitoTL=UK&Voucher=
I saw that. 10% for Tektime, and the translator gets a piece. The translation is free for the author, but there's a charge for formatting and the book cover. Is that correct?
Although I strongly recommend that you contact them directly for more accurate information, I've found out that they charge the following rates:
Original or translated book formatting: 49 euro
EPUB conversion: 49 euro
EPUB cover creation: 49 euro
PDF conversion: 79 euro
Paperback cover creation: 99 euro
Audiobook cover creation: 69 euro
Booktrailer: 49 euro
