Martial Arts: My Top 3 Self - Defense Techniques
Photo by Pavel Danilyuk from Pexels
I was introduced into martial arts at a young age. When I was around the 5th grade I was formally introduced to Karate. In my high school, I joined a Kickboxing gym. And in college, I joined a Wushu (Sanshou & Taolu) gym. Our Sanshou coach later adapted MMA and named his gym Team Lakay.
With the introduction out of the way, here’s my Top 3 Self-Defense Techniques:
1. Run

When you get into trouble, the best and most appropriate thing to do is to get away. Run as fast as you can. This is one of the most memorable things I’ve learned. If you’ve been training in martial arts for a long time, then you’re in top condition to out run your assailants.
2. Fight Back only as a Last Resort.

If there’s no way to run, fight back only to preserve yourself. If you get an opening, run.
3. Avoid Trouble.
The best way to avoid getting into trouble is to stay away from it. Stay away from any persons, activities or places that might get you in trouble.
Extra:
Physical exercise also boosts your immune system. Recently, I learned that physical activities improve the healing capabilities of our body.
Conclusion:
There it is. My top 3 self-defense techniques. It’s simple and easy yet difficult to do in most cases. I’ve known a lot of beginners looking for trouble just to test or apply what they have just learned.
