1992
In the same year that the Tampa Bay Lightning debuted as the first ever NHL team in Florida, the entire sports community had another first. Manon Rheaume. She is the first ever woman to play in any of the four major North American sporting events. She helped them get the win over St. Louis in a pre-season game this day back in 1992.
Though she didn't actually make the team, she still went on to play professional hockey and wore the Canadian colors on the 1992 and 1994 Women's World Champion team. She was also the goalie for Canada in the 1998 Winter Olympics for the amazing ladies and took home a silver medal.
Being in the NHL though, was a huge win for females everywhere. Not like the shamelessness of 'men' or transgenders that 'identify as women' competing in women's events with their testosterone levels beyond triple what any normal biological woman could ever attain. Science.

There was also Ann Meyers who was drafted by the Pacers in 1980 and played some tryouts, tho wasn't accepted to the final squad. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Meyers. Good for these women pioneers in pro sports!
Was a handful of others like the infamous Billie Jean King 'Battle of the Sexes' with Riggs, but Meyers was cut after the first week so sadly never got to play in a game but good on ya. You know your sports 😎. Meyers was the first to ever be on a top 4 North American professional sports roster.
edit: - By top 4, I mean the MLB, NHL, NFL & NBA, because there were a few other women that did play pro men's sports prior to Manon. One was even on the Globetrotters 😁
