Dog walking and car shopping. My Actifit Report Card: January 30 2024
Today's biggest chore was taking our SUV in for service and then shopping for vehicles while I was in there.
Unfortunately there isn't a Mitsubishi dealership in our town so I have to go to a nearby suburb in order to get the car serviced. It isn't a big issue but it is a 40min drive each way so it does eat up a big chunk of the day.
Wandering around the different auto dealerships nearby did get me a couple thousand steps over a couple hours.
In the end i found 3 cars for my son to test drive on Thursday. A Hyundai Genesis, a Dodge Dart, and a VW Golf.
As a Dad I would choose any of these three vehicles. I would be quite happy with the Mirage that he currently has or maybe a good solid Toyota Corolla. However, my son has been saving diligently and really wants something with more "class" and more power. (sigh)
Anyways other than pacing around the car dealership I did of course take my dog for a walk in the morning and evening.
If course he just wants to get out and sniff everything but I suppose its the only fun he has in a day so I shouldn't keep him from it.
Looking at the volleyball area covered with puddles makes me think that it will be nice when dryer weather comes.
At the lake in the evening I was pleasantly surprised to see some swans swimming across the lake. There are lots of geese and ducks with the occassional loon or heron but Swans are a little bit uncommon. Cool to see.
Then it is time to come home and make some dinner. Pork chops and vegetables.
My wife grumbled that it wasn't ready earlier as she went to work at 7am for a 12hr shift and I made the dinner to be ready at 7pm...she arrived at 6:30pm and grumbles.
Oh well, can't keep her happy all the time I guess.
So I'm just writing this now as I wait for the food to cook so I can have some dinner and enjoy a quiet evening with my wife.
My son is busy working tonight.
