Shortest day of the year. My Actifit Report Card: December 22 2023

Today was the last day of work before Christmas. Horray!

Unfortunately the time before Christmas is a very busy one in the pharmacy. Everyone wants to stock up on their medications before the holiday season and they want to get their end medication before the end of year when their deductible through insurance comes due.

Overall makes for a busy day.

However, the day started early as usual.

Even if I'm going to work I still have to take the dog out for his morning walk. Or should I say morning sniff?

People explore the world through sight, dogs through smell. I'm just thinking its still mostly dark out and its raining and I'm walking the dog. That I didn't even want in the first place.

After 30 minutes he is a soggy doggy even with his rain jacket on. Look at that wet face.

Anyways, I usually try to take a homemade lunch to work to save money on eating out. However, with the busy day at work I figure I deserve a treat.

Subway for lunch it is.

On the way there I had to shake my head in dismay over what happened to a Pharmacy near us. Someone drove through their front door. Really? Who thought that was a good idea? Guaranteed not to make a positive first impression with your Pharmacist.

With such a busy day my boss stayed an hour overtime and skipped his lunch break to try and stay caught up. It didn't work, he'll have to go in tomorrow on his day off. As for me, I had to stay 15min later again to get things caught up, however, I don't really feel as obligated to work for free on my day off. I won't be going in tomorrow :)

After that it is time to go home and as tired as I am the dog still needs to go for his evening walk.

Sort of funny how I walk the dog in the dark both morning and evening today. The essence of the shortest day of the year. On the plus side it wasn't raining in the evening. Horray!

After the walk my wife has spaghetti with meat sauce ready to go. Then its a nice video with my wife (although she fell asleep) and then off to bed to prepare for tomorrow.
