Date with my wife. My Actifit Report Card: November 19 2023

avatar

Today was a date day with my wife. Spend a night in a nice hotel, enjoy a day with my wife, make a memory or two.

It all starts off with a free breakfast. Now we are platinum members so food is free which is good because otherwise it is $32 per person.

After breakfast it was time for shopping. Now I hate shopping but black Friday sales so my wife loves shopping.

We had a great view from the 17th floor and only a short walk to the mall. It was all decked out for Christmas and of course for black Friday sales.

Mostly I just roamed around getting steps and thinking how little I actually need to buy anything. Everything looks kind of futile but I guess I'm a little jaded on retail.

The place is bright, clean, and open so shipping is easy. My wife would spend a lot of time on a few stores so she would just let me go out so she could shop in peace.

In the end she got a good deal on some cosmetics, toiletries and clothing. She was happy and I was tired after 3hrs of shopping.

After that we wormed to the hotel.

Nice place

They also had a nice gun but in the end we decided to use the pool.

No chance we were going to sunbathe on the lounge chairs even if it was sunny.

The temperature was about 6C. Luckily the pool was heated so we were able to sell and relax that way.

After that it was time to checkout.

Then time for church.

Then time to walk the dog.

Then off to bed after a great day out.

Good for 18k steps even if the swimming doesn't count for steps 😀

Thanks for reading.

Until tomorrow

A lovely date with your wife! Excellent! The Sheraton sounds like a great place to stay as well.

I'm guessing your Black Friday sales are on a different Friday than ours, lol! I used to do them, but don't so much anymore.

I am sure your wife was pleased with her date out with you!

Excellent job with your 18130 @actifit steps for the day. Take care!

Our black Friday sales start a week early. Black Friday week sale. It's not our Thanksgiving so the deals here are mostly to keep people from going across the border.

I think my wife enjoyed the day. She keeps asking when we go back 😀

Well.......you could enjoy two Black Friday sales; a big one to start your week of sales and then a big one to end the week out!

Enjoy and have a great week!

I could...

But I'm at a point in my life where I just think"God has given me all I need. Why should I look for more?" Why waste my time at the border or in a crush of people to snag a cheap item I don't need.

It may seem weird but I'm content with what I have and the things that I want most...

... time with my wife and kids

... time with my Bible and church.

... time walking in the park with my dog.

And a nice meal every now and then 😉

I hear ya! As I said, I don't do the Black Friday thing; I worked in retail at a big box store for 20 years; it sort of ruined it for me. I'm content to stay home and enjoy the day with whatever comes.

Our kids are grown and married and moved out. I like your list; it's the important things.

Take care and enjoy!

I've been a Pharmacist for almost 30. Rite aid 9yrs may not be a big box but close enough. 3 years at Walmart absolutely a big box. Thankfully last 12 at a small independent pharmacy.

Still the retail experience does little for me .

Really appreciate your replies.
Thank you

Thank you @terganftp! I did the Walmart thing for 20 years where I worked all areas from unloading trucks to being an assistant manager! Yep-that kind of did it for me as well! Take care and enjoy the evening!

I only stayed until they made me work an 8am to midnight shift with no breaks.... after they pulled that I was looking for a new job soon after.

12hrs shifts suck... but midnight madness with only one Pharmacist on duty was insane.

(My little rant for the moment)

No worries! When I was an assistant Manager for Walmart (this was in Colorado). I went in at 5 AM on one day; couldn't leave until 1 AM the next as the pharmacy didn't set their alarm and I couldn't set the store's alarm. Finally at 1 AM (the next morning) the home office told me to lock up and go home. Sad part was I had to be back at 5 AM again, so I got 4 hours off! I was salaried at the time, so to the company, it didn't matter.

I am so glad I am out of that aspect and now work for a single doc optical clinic. I'm now an optician by trade. Much, much happier!

My rant, lol! Take care my friend!

How is it that I am enjoying this blog as if I was equally on such that. These are some beautiful sights to see. Free breakfast 🤗🤣😂maybe you have been wishing for more free things too right?
It must have taking you alot of patronize in there to have gotten to platinum membership.
Plus I can point only a few guys who loves shopping.

In all a date and time out like this is good, I love creating memories.

If you know me at all you know I like to with the system for a good deal. Platinum status usually means spending 50 nights in hotel rooms that usually cost $150 hbd or far more per night. $7500HBD typical for platinum status.

I'm way too cheap to pay that much. I usually aim to pay about 850hbd for status and make sure I get enough food and memories to make it worthwhile. I do understand that's a huge sum for an average Nigerian(my apologies. I don't mean to make light on the financial situation there) but considering the average rent in my area is 1500hbd monthly platinum status can be affordable.

..... with a little working the system and getting good deals.

As for the food. Yes. I enjoy free food, not cooking and not cleaning up 😀

Next Actifit Report I'll highlight the breakfast buffet.... and what to eat for the maximum benefit 😉
