TAMAYOMI: The Baseball Girls --- cuteness overload!
I finally finished the last two episodes of the anime I'm watching. It's another sports anime, but unlike the usual ones I watch, this time all the characters are girls. :) Well, I did watch Major 2nd and majority of the team members were girls. It was exciting and the female characters were so cute and cool, so I got curious about this one. It's called TAMAYOMI: The Baseball Girls.

At first, I wondered because I had no idea what "Tamayomi" means. However, when the characters were introduced, it all made total sense.

Yamazaki Tamaki (catcher in the photo above) and Takeda Yomi (pitcher) are childhood friends. They have always been fascinated with baseball even when they were kids. They'd often go to the park and play catch ball together.
Yomi was full of potential and Tamaki recognized that. By throwing some rubber balls, Yomi tried doing a pitch which they both called "Magic Ball".
They got separated as they grew up, but both of them continued playing baseball. Tamaki became a skilled catcher who's known to never have a ball pass by her. However, despite Yomi's great potential as a pitcher, her team was mostly at the bottom.

Yomi who decided to quit baseball entered Shin Koshigaya High School where she met the twins Ibuki and Yoshino who were huge baseball enthusiast. She was caught up in their pace as if baseball didn't want to let her go. What more, she got reunited with her childhood friend who also went to the same high school as her.
They decided to play catch just like the old times... and that reignited Yomi's desire to play baseball again.

The two formed a battery and alongside the twinsm they decided to revive their school's baseball team which has been on hiatus following a certain incident.

Once their team was completed, they set the goal of winning the national championships! Check out the trailer of the anime below...

It was actually better than I expected!
The storyline was a bit cliche, but it has a certain charm to it. The girls were very cute and the way they were drawn and animated was full of fanservice. I like it, so I'm not complaining... hahaha
They didn't really play a lot of games in the anime (since it's just the first season... not sure if they're making a second one), but the two main games they participated in were actually quite fun and exciting to watch.
What I like about it is that, the characters showed their vulnerability and strength in certain situations. Not only the main characters, but also the supporting ones really complemented each other. Despite not knowing much about the other members' background in detail (since there's just 12 episodes), I must say they're all pretty unique.
I wanted it to have more impact, though... Maybe I'm just too used to watching sports anime which really keeps my adrenaline level high. I don't dislike it, but it's more of a feel-good and slice of life type of sports anime.
Would I watch it again? Not really... However, if a second season is released, I'd definitely give it a shot. :)
I'll end this post here. Thanks for reading and see you around! (^^,)/
Baseball and girls, it's something you see very little of, but that's precisely what makes it interesting. I see that the animation is simple, but beautiful, I really liked it. And well, it was enough with the trailer to notice the fanservice haha.
Thanks for sharing!
Have you watched Major 2nd? The girls there were also really cool and impressive... I'll check other all-female sports someday... there's this cycling one that I'm interested in, too..
And yeah... fanservice... I think it's because of the target audience??? but I don't mind... hahah
Did you watch Grand Blue, if not then please try. I'm currently watching it, it's so damn good 😁
Is it the diving one? I watched the first couple episodes before and it was hilarious... I should continue watching it then. :D
But never watch it while eating 💀
Ahahaha... oh myyyy~~~ xDDD
It looks nice, except for the fanservice haha but it's not much compared to others, according to what I watched in the trailer haha but hey, it's something different to watch since I haven't seen baseball anime before 😊
There's a little bit of fanservice, but yeah... it's better than some other anime. :D
There are a bunch of amazing and exciting baseball anime~!!!! <3
This is the anime series where some Venezuelans are playing baseball? I want to see that anime but I don't remember its name. I appreciate the recommendation, I will keep it in mind! 💕
Ohh... are you refering to MAJOR? I remember a Venezuelan character named Silva... :)
Lol is that the name of the anime? I'm looking forward to watching it, thank you so much! 💕
Yes... it is... :)
Enjoy!!! ^^
I love that sports anime are exploring more character diversity, and also starring girls. I love that sports anime are exploring more character diversity, and that they're also starring girls. As a spokon fan, I will watch it!
Cheers to spokon fans like us!!! I hope they create more sports anime in the future. There are a lot of amazing sports manga that are yet to be animated. :D
To be honest, I'm not familiar with sports anime, watched quite a few mainstream like Blue Lock, but this one is quite odd. Well, after reading it, I like it, and maybe I can give it a try.
About fan services, if they are funny and not extreme, I'll really enjoy it.
Thanks for sharing sensei.
Yeah... this isn't the best sports anime there is, but this was also quite entertaining. :)
The fanservice in this anime is pretty mild and subtle... :)
You're welcome... ^^
Nice; I think I'll like it.
Also, I'm not well versed in the sports genre; I wish you could recommend some interesting ones. It's not compulsory to be mainstream. I just need it to be interesting.
I know and I've watched a lot of sports anime... which sport are you interested in??? :)
Racing, tennis, golf, and maybe Skating.
Well, I can't really say, any sport anime that is very competitive, and I can feel the heat while watching.
I haven't watched a lot of those anime...
I've only watched cycling (Yowamushi Pedal and Overdrive), tennis (Prince of Tennis, Baby Steps), ice/figure skating (Yuri on Ice, Skate-Leading Stars)...
As for competitive ones: (here's a list I could come up with atm)
basketball --> Slam Dunk, Kuroko no Basuke, Ahiru no Sora
volleyball --> Haikyuu!!
baseball --> Dia no Ace, Dia no Ace: Act II, Major, Ookiku Furikabutte, One Outs
badminton --> Ryman's Club
soccer --> Ao Ashi, Giant Killing, Whistle!, Inazuma Eleven (this one is unrealistic but so entertaining)
others ---> Re:Main (water polo), All Out! (rugby), Shakunetsu Kabaddi (kabaddi), Eyeshield 21 (American Football)
There are more, but these are the series that I've watched more than once. hahaha
Thank you very much friend.
You're always welcome 😁
