The second ODI would take place tomorrow in Pune. I some times fail to understand how can a city which has not produced a single international cricketer of repute can have international stadiums?

I think it’s more because of the location.
Pune is strategically positioned not too far from Mumbai and also attract a lot off crowd from Pune itself.
They could not have another stadium in Mumbai so Pune was next best place as it’s not too far from Mumbai so will attract crowd from both the cities.

I am also sure that there is some political influence as well 😀😎

Yea I agree but I think it has more to do with the money. International matches like these tend to bring in people with money. But with all the lock downs, I am not sure how many people are traveling.

Hehe I don't think they both are connected in any way. The location , the stadium doesn't depend on how many international players the area has given.

Based on the past matches, has this stadium been used multiple times? It might just because they are using what worked in the past. Though some money and politics might also have a factor.

I think IPL was another reason. As Pune have their own team so it makes sense to have a home ground.

I think its because of the money and politics. I don't know what type of deals was done behind people's backs to decide the actual stadium.
