Florida State football fires head coach Willie Taggart during second season
Willie Taggart did not make it until the end of the season.
The Head Coach was fired by Florida State a day after losing to in-state rival Miami. The team was blown out and this left the administration with no choice.
Taggert came to Florida State after a year at Oregon and 4 at South Florida. His tenure was a complete mess. He replaced Jumbo Fisher who left FSU to take the job at Texas A&M.
Losing to Florida, Clemson and Miami in the last 4 meetings against those teams left the beleaguered coach with a pink slip.

Not a fun thing to have happen especially during the season.
I just read that he gets $17 million to leave Tallahassee. That isn't such a bad deal. Big money in college sports these days.
