RE: Saudi Arabia seeks to set up world’s richest cricket competition

The BCCI has to be careful because increasingly players around the world don’t need to rely on their domestic cricket board for a living. Players could simply say they feel they can make more money abandoning BCCI events and playing all the other leagues around the world instead.

The likes of India, England and Australia haven’t experienced that problem yet but every other country has.

What the BCCI will do is use it’s influence within the ICC to close down opportunities for international players to take part in these T20 leagues that keep popping up.

Generally, I agree. A league in Saudi would be very sterile. The IPL is special because of the crowds and the support.
