LENA 2020 Water Polo Championship

European Championship in Water Polo came to knock 
out  stage. Main super powers in this sport Serbia, 
Croatia,  Hungary secured first places in groups 
together with Italy.  Here is how groups look like
after group stage:

Group A: 
                   1. Croatia 9
                   2. Montenegro 6
                   3. Germany 3
                   4. Slovakia 0 

Group B:
                   1. Serbia 9
                   2. Russia 3
                   3. Romania 3
                   4. Netherlands 3 

Three-way tie (goal-difference based on the results against each other: RUS +5, ROM 0, NED –5), that's why Russia is second here.

Group C:
                   1. Hungary 7 (+40)
                   2. Spain 7 (+33)
                   3. Turkey 3
                   4. Malta 0

Group D:
                   1. Italy 9
                   2. Greece 6
                   3. Georgia 3
                   4. France 0

Big four will rest until second placed decide who
will go to quarter final. Tommrow will play:

Montenegro v Turkey (QF v Italy)
Germany v Spain (QF v Serbia),
Russia v Georgia (QF v Hungary) 
Romania v Greece (QF v Croatia) 

Quarter final will bring very interesting games
between probably Spain and Serbia and
Montenegro and Italy.  Spain eliminated
Serbia on World Championship, but it wasn't
Serbia's strongest squad. It'll be good 
opportunity to regain some authority for
Serbian squad called Doplhins. 

Water Polo is very healthy sport, great for
developing muscles for kids and it's pity 
that it's not very popular in most countries.
It's good to see France, Germany and Turkey
as big countries participating in this 
tournament. I wonder where is Great Britain
here because sport has been invented there.

It's also quite exciting and dynamic sport with
goals scored often, quick attacks and very
much contact between players in pool. It
requires strength and muscles, good swimming 
and  excellent skill with the ball.
