The Chelsea new goal keeper wins save of the month
The Premier League Save of the Month for September was awarded to Robert Sanchez the Chelsea new number 1 shot stopper for his outstanding stop that stopped Nicolo Zaniolo of Aston Villa from scoring. The stoppage came after a Villa corner during our game at Stamford Bridge last month.

A Villa corner was returned into danger by midfielder Boubacar Kamara, who then found Zaniolo eight yards away. Blues anticipated the worst. Zaniolo's potent close-range shot was wonderfully tipped over the bar by Sanchez, who proved to be up to the challenge. Those in the Matthew Harding Stand behind him sent out cries of awe. Five other Premier League goalkeepers competed against Sanchez for the honour, which is given through a popular vote. When receiving the award at Cobham this week, Sanchez recalled that the game had numerous saves. I was preparing for a shot similar to the one I stopped five minutes prior, a left-footed volley.
I simply prepared myself, attempted to see the ball, and responded to it despite the numerous bodies that were in my path. It's a personal trophy, which is an incredible feeling, but it's also time to receive team accolades, said Sanchez. With four clean sheets in his first ten Chelsea outings, Sanchez has had a promising start to his Chelsea career. This trophy is another notch in his crown.
