Marc Cucurella growing confidence with his new demands and Burnley win

Marc Cucurella thinks that Mauricio Pochettino's team is showing signs of increasing confidence as evidenced by our come-from-behind victory at Burnley. In their Premier League match last Saturday at Turf Moor, the Blues fell behind after Wilson Odobert's low shot trickled through the legs of Cucurella and past custodian Robert Sanchez that's never easy to come back and win the game again, and Chelsea has had trouble doing that this year.

But shortly before halftime, Raheem Sterling caused an own goal from Ameen Al-Dakhil, and from that point on, we were in complete control. Soon after the break, Cole Palmer successfully converted a penalty that Sterling had won. It was the first goal in blue for our summer acquisition.

Sterling then scored our third goal and contributed significantly to our magnificent fourth. The England international made a great cross-field pass for Palmer, who found Nicolas Jackson with a pass inside. To cap off a remarkable comeback, the striker deftly moved the ball to his left foot and stroked his finish behind James Trafford. In his post-victory remarks, Cucurella noted that the team's response to giving up the goal was excellent. After the break, we were really focused on what we needed to achieve since we had created opportunities. We took the lead right away [in the second half] and went on to win easily. We had a great win since we were assured and scored many goals.

In other games, we could lose heart [after falling behind], but today we stuck to the plan, kept constructing, and kept battling. After two consecutive victories, the team's confidence has increased. With the first goal today, we may have enjoyed a little luck that we didn't have in past games. Then we carry on. We have a really crucial three points and we have faith in both ourselves and the plan. At Turf Moor, Cucurella made his third consecutive start; all three came at right-back due to Reece James' injury and Malo Gusto's suspension. The 25-year-old has not previously played this role for Chelsea, but he has quickly gotten used to it. It's a little challenging, the Spaniard said. Actually, it depends on what is done. The main requirements are the same; however, I'm on the other side. I always do my best to support the team, and I believe that my teammates do the same for me. Thus, we must keep playing this style and succeed in our games.
