Today marks the start of the EBOR Festival at York UK, and for the next 4 days, this thread will show at least one bet I will be placing on each day. Following the horses of top trainer Michael Dods, in particular the handicaps he has runners in.
So for today we have just the one selection :
1.50 York Dakota Gold odds taken 8-1 (currently 7-1 with my bookie) potential earnings £0.90

A complete bust with yesterday's bet, Dakota Gold finishing a poor 15th of 22 runners.
Again just one runner from our trainer today, with one of his horses (Brunch) being declared a non-runner in the same race:

Northern Express proved anything but an express in finishing 7th of 18 runners yesterday.
Today our trainer has no runners at the festival, so we move focus to Andrew Balding's stable for the Sky Bet Mile Handicap

5.20 York Al Marmar @ odds of 25-1. £0.05 Each Way Bet (total stake £0.10), potentially earning us £1.60

A narrow fifth place finish yesterday meaning our e/w bet just failed to produce some returns as 4 places were being paid by my bookie.
On to today however, and our trainer has 2 runners in the same race both at decent each way odds wwith 5 places to be paid.
4.10 York Tinto @ odds of 14/1 £0.05 Each Way Bet (total stake £0.10), potentially earning us £0.94
AND
4.10 York Commanche Falls @ odds of 12/1 £0.05 Each Way Bet (total stake £0.10), potentially earning us £0.82

The York EBOR festival is over for another year, and sadly a disappointing run of results across the four days.
We did however nab a partial win with Commanche Falls placing in the 4.10 race, and at better odds than we took initially (16-1) thus netting us returns of £0.21.
This results in a small loss over the course of the festival of £0.29.
The next big racing fixture is The St. Leger Festival at Doncaster from 7th to 10th September 2022, and I'll be back with another thread and strategy then.
