A CAMP-NOU CLASSIC

It has been a frantic past few days for all football fans. Back-to-back action at the very highest level. The Premier League delivered, Seria A delivered, The Champions League delivered and today, the Europa League delivered. There were so many games today in the Europa League because it's round of 32, but we all really cared about one game. Highflying Manchester United traveled to Spain, to take on the Local League Leaders. A game that promised action and full excitement, and sure as hell did not disappoint.

BARCELONA VS MANCHESTER UNITED

What a game. If history was anything to go by, Man United had an upheaval task, winless in all their attempt at the famous stadium, but a lot has changed since then; with the form Ten Hag boys were in, you'd expect a blockbuster. The game started off at a low tempo, with Barcelona dominating the possession as expected. As the first half wore in, it became a more open affair; end-to-end stuff. The first clear-cut chance was for Manchester United. A fine pass threaded between the Barcelona defense saw Weghorst through on goal, but Ter Stegen pulled of a fine stop. The Barcelona keeper was called into action again later in the game, this time he was on full stretch to stop Marcus Rashford's effort. It was Barcelona who drew the first blood. Marcos Alonso headed in a corner to score his first goal for the club. A quick response from United saw the game level. Marcus continued his incredible streak in front of goal, beating Ter Stegen at his near post. An own goal by Jules Kounde gave the red devils the lead a few minutes later, and they seemed like they would take the full advantage to the second leg, but a left-footed strike from Raphinha in the 76th minute ensured the spoils were shared. The game, finely poised for the second leg. A truly incredible game of football.

Elsewhere, Salzburg defeated Roma. Union Berlin could not get past Ajax, Shaktar vanquished Rennes, Sevilla ran riot against PSV, Sporting drew Midtjylland, as did Juventus against Nantes, while Monaco overcame Leverkusen in a thrilling game.

Europa League football sure did deliver. Goals, goals, and more goals. Now we look forward to the second Leg. Thank you for reading my post. Till next time. Cheers.
