Morning Run: Taking it easy

I just finished a 6.996km running that lasted about 0hh:40mm:53ss !

My other half is still suffering a bit from COVID, so I have been sleeping in the spare room to reduce the chances of getting it and feel okay for now. I was up for my regular run this morning. My legs have been a bit sore this week, so I was not going to push to much this time.

It was my usual run up the hill and around Fairfield, clockwise this time. I took it very steady to start with, but got quicker as I went on and loosened up. It was fairly quiet out there, but I said good morning to a few people out walking.

That loop is one of my speed tests, but I was not trying for a record and so was well down on my best, but that does not matter at all. My body still gets a decent workout. I just managed to stay under 6min/km.

I will do another COVID test before parkrun as I do not want to risk spreading it around even if I am not showing symptoms. Our government are looking to remove restrictions early, but that seems based on politics rather than science.

One photo of me is from parkrun last week. Someone took hundreds of photos and I was in a few. This was on the last lap just after I lapped the tail walkers. I was obviously telling myself to keep going for the last 2km. The other is some snowdrops in our garden. Spring is on the way.

Stay well and run free.

I hope they recover from Covid soon. It has to be horrible to not be able to really do anything about it. My wife and I skipped our workout today. After the emotional rollercoaster that was yesterday, we felt we needed the break. Nice job on your run!

Sorry to hear about your wife. Hopefully she is okay and feels better soon. Fingers crossed that you won't catch it as well 🤞

Cheers. I feel I've been lucky so far, but you can't tell how it will go.
