Morning Run - parkrun 49

I just finished a 5.012km running that lasted about 0hh:26mm:19ss !

Technically this is my 50th parkrun, but I forgot my barcode once when I went to Bedford and so did not get an official time. It was a bright morning with a hint of frost in places. I jogged down there as usual. I watched this video about improving your time and one of his tips was to do a warm-up as otherwise it can take a while to really get going and on a short race that wastes time.

So I did some little sprints and stretches once I got there. I saw others doing the same. A guy came up and said 'hello stranger', but I did not recognise him. It was only afterwards when I checked on Strava that I realised it was a guy I have met a few times. He has lost a lot of weight and looks quite different now. It was his first time running at Henlow parkrun.

I set off fairly well, but there was the usual mud after the first corner. I felt I was trying hard all the way. I passed a few people early on rather than just tagging along and had very few come past me. For a lot of it I was on my own with the guy who talked to me some way ahead.

I was not looking at my watch much, but when I did on the last lap the pace was not that great despite feeling tough. I lapped a few people and managed a sprint at the end with a time about minute off my best.

When I checked on Strava I could see that I was actually on target for about 25 minutes on the first lap, but then slowed down a fair bit. I just could not sustain that pace, so I need to work on that.

I will include a dirty legs shot for @dickturpin :)

Run free and stay well.

26 minutes is a great time for 5km, fairplay man. I should start jogging or running, I've been going out for walks as much as I can to try and loose some weight, it's working but I need to do something a bit more intense, I had been cycling but my bike needs some repairs.

Cheers. When I started running a few years back I could not imagine going this quick, but expectations change. I still want to crack 25 minutes.

It is a great idea to running and jogging, even if is not up to 5km. Exercise is a good thing which help alot of body muscle and nerves to function well.

Because it does not only reduce weight but also help in blood circulation and also help the waste lot by sweat out of body.

I'm always envious of you runners @steevc , my hubby is a runner. I'm just, I'm afraid, a rambler. I'm far to prone to meandering and snatching bits and bobs to store in my pockets like a jackdaw or rook, to stay in a straight line long enough to get a run going haha. Have fun and keep on running (I'll just be back here in the hedgerow trying to get that seedpod for the garden)

Walking is good too. I can explore quite a wide area on my runs. Lots that many people won't see. Enjoy your walks.

Hehe, I still haven't taken any run since them. Most of my exercises are indoor.
Weldone with yours. It's a good way to keep the whole body fit.

I like to get outside as I am working inside all the time. Any exercise is good.
