Morning Run: Christmas eve eve

I just finished a 7.167km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:5ss !

Yesterday was really cold with a hard frost, but it warmed up a bit today. I have finished work for the year and turned off my alarm, so I slept a bit longer. I still wanted to run before breakfast.

I tried for a tempo run this time, so tried to keep the pace up once I got going. I did pretty well up the hill to the war memorial and then down House Lane, but did not beat my best for that segment. I kept pushing all the way to Stotfold and then eased off a little as I turned back.

I was still averaging under 5:30min/km and I am pretty happy with that. I will keep working on speed into next year in hope of improvement.

There is still a week to run (as it were) this year and I will try to fit in a fair bit. It is too tempting to sit around eating, so I need to do something to balance things out. I will not beat my best yearly total, but then I did have some illness and injury. I am pretty happy with how it is going generally.

Have a great Christmas.

I think I should take up a little bit of running. We took up a new sport this year, one I've never tried and I am hooked on, Kayaking.

Exhaust sounds good, will be great with Strava integration.

Does it also account for hikes?

Questions for the new year - Have a great Christmas!

@exhaust only covers a small range of activities so far, but I just tend to log running and cycling with it. It does include walking. Strava can do a lot more of course. My runs get from Garmin > Strava > Exhaust automatically.

I wish you a happy Christmas too.

I have finished work for the year and turned off my alarm

Wow, lucky you! I have to work today and then I have to work Tuesday and Wednesday next week. It isn't like there is much going on, but I have workers coming in to run some new fiber, so it should be busy.

I got up and did my upper body workout this morning. Took about 20 to 30 minutes. Great job on your run!

I had some leave days to use up and there would not be much happening with work anyway as a lot of people have finished for the year.

I ought to do more upper body stuff. I do a few exercises for that. Sounds like you get a good range of exercise.

I do what I can. Days like yesterday I just stay in bed though! Investing in that Total Gym was really a great move for us. I want to be building more muscle so I can get more benefit from my cardio and aerobics when I do that.
