Afternoon Run: Spooky

I just finished a 11.731km running that lasted about 1hh:10mm:30ss !

Well something spooky happened to my run as part is missing. I guess the GPS did not pick up initially, but the distance is about right. The weather was horrible this morning, so I was not inclined to run then. I did other stuff this morning. After lunch I cleaned out the chickens and did some trimming of the ivy on our trellis, see photo. I still have more to do there.

The clocks went back today and it is Halloween with it getting darker earlier. I headed out for a long-ish run. There were lots of houses decorated with pumpkins, cobwebs and other spooky things. We have not done any of that this year as our kids are grown up.

It was not a speedy run, but I wanted to get some distance under my feet. I went up the hill to Fairfield and then took the road around there instead of the track so I could check out the Halloween stuff. When I got to the other side I headed towards the Greenway. The path was very muddy in places and the nettles were out to get me. Then I had to climb up the big hill to the Grange. That was hard work.

I did part of the Letchworth parkrun course down the rubble-strewn farm track and forked off to follow the road to Stotfold. It was starting to get dark and I was tiring by then. I took it pretty steady back to Arlesey.

I was pretty worn out by this run, but maybe running later in the day is harder for me. I will try to get back to mornings in the week.
