Morning Run: The long and winding road

I just finished a 11.297km running that lasted about 1hh:7mm:19ss !

Part of my podcast listening today was Sodajerker which is generally interviews with songwriters, but they had an extra chat with producer Giles Martin (son of George) who is remixing Beatles albums. They did mention the song in my title. I love this sort of geeky talk.

Today's run was a fairly gentle one as parkrun takes it out of me. I like to get out for an hour or so even if it is not quick. The weather was just right for me with just a few spots of rain near the end.

I did one of my regular loops. It feels like a while as I was away last week. There were some roadworks in Arlesey and some building work up near Fairfield to catch my eye. I also look out for wildlife. Today it was assorted birds, including the usual crowd of ducks on the new(ish) Stotfold estate.

I saw and waved to a few other runners out there, but nobody I know. I followed one guy for a while around Fairfield, but I was not really catching him up and he turned off to take a different route.

I am happy enough with the run. I have been doing this sort of distance on most Sundays for years, but I still feel it in my legs. If I include getting to parkrun I have done about 30km this week.

After a shower and breakfast I was mucking out the chickens and doing some gardening as I do every week.

Run free and stay well.

today was Sunday and I took the opportunity to do some gymnastics at home. I started doing some physical exercise too.

Cheers. I feel I am getting somewhere with my running. parkrun is the only racing I am doing for now and I hope to keep improving.

I don't think I could run like this every day of the week. I just like to make the most of the weekend when I have time for a longer run, especially when the days are short.

Sunday longer run at about 6 minute pace. Is great backing up after parkrun. I seem to do my Sunday easy runs 2 to 3 minutes per km slower than my parkrun pace. Depending on the elevation gain and terrain.

I go full speed for parkrun, but just under 6min/km is a comfortable pace for me. I can keep that up for a while. I am considering entering another half.
