parkrun 56: Oldie race
A nice morning for running at Henlow Bridge Lakes. Not too warm, but bridge and dry. The course is all dried out for now, but a bit uneven in places. I still went with my trail shoes. Numbers were down on last week, but still better than some weeks recently.
Once more I tried not to go off too quick and I was actually doing the sort of pace I wanted for a lot of it. I did slow down a bit in the middle, but picked it up for the last lap. I passed a few people, including a guy I have followed in previous weeks. Another guy who looks about my age came past and I tried to stick with him.
On the last stage before the finish straight I passed his, but he came back ahead of me and stayed there. Just as the finish was in sight two others came past us. I still finished 17th of 79, which I have to consider good. I was a little slower than last week, but generally improving.
I was out in London last night for a work social that involved a few drinks. It was at a bar opposite Smithfield Market. I passed a pub around the corner where @detlev and I had a beer a while back when he was in town. I got home fairly late as some trains were cancelled. After running today I was off out again to clear some more junk from the house we are doing up. Tonight I am playing at an open mic night with another tomorrow. It is a pretty busy weekend with some family stuff going on too.
Run free and stay well.

I'm considering going back to running too and using Actifit or Stepn
It's a shame @Exhaust shut down, but we have other options. I am just doing running posts manually for now as Actifit does not suit my needs, but I know a lot of people use it.
Enjoy your running.
