Morning Run: parkrun 77
steevc just finished a 8.78km run, that lasted for 65 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 691.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
I could hear it was windy before I got up. It was raining a bit too, but I wanted to run anyway. After breakfast I set off and it was a bit damp. The wind was not too bad and the course is sheltered.
The turnout was good considering the conditions. I could see parts of the course were slippery. I chatted with a couple of people before we set off.
As usual some people zoomed away and I assumed for my usual steady pace. I was overtaken by a few on the first lap including a couple of people with dogs and one with a buggy.
I nearly turned an ankle on a tree root, but recovered.
It was feeling like hard work, but on the last lap I could see a couple of guy ahead who looked catchable. I just got past them on the way to the finish. I might have passed another, but did not want to force my way through.
It was a little slower than I would like, but not bad with the conditions. My shoes actually ended up cleaner than when I started as had not really washed them after last week's mudbath. This was mild in comparison and running back along the road will have knocked some mud off.
Run free.

Thank God your ankle didn't hurt too hard.
It's perfectly fine thanks. Always a risk running cross-country, but it builds strength.
Building strength is a reward
Well done
