Morning Run: parkrun 66 at Henlow Bridge Lakes
steevc just finished a 5.04km run, that lasted for 26 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 327.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
I missed parkrun last week as I was travelling to Scotland, but I was back today. There was the usual call for volunteers early in the week, but they seemed to find enough. I will do it again soon. It has been fairly wet lately, so the course may start getting muddy again soon, but was not too bad today.
I did my usual jog there, but walked some of it. My friend Graeme came past me as I crossed the railway bridge. At the start they had a minute's silence for the Queen and then we were off.
I was not really thinking too much about my pace, but I was happy to do the first couple of kilometres at 5:05 pace. I got a little slower after that, but I would expect that. I was really struggling by the last kilometre, but just kept running and pushed a little harder for the final straight. I came in just under 26 minutes, which is the first time in a while I have been that quick. I was just ahead of Graeme. He usually beats me with a quicker sprint at the end.
I was very happy with my time. I have been quicker, but I am improving after losing some speed this year. I just need to keep up the training runs.
I have just entered the Standalone 10k that takes place in 2 weeks. I was not sure if I was going to take part, but it is a fun race on the roads near here.
Run free!

@bingbabe fell out with Asics a while ago.
'They hurt my feet' - she says.. and then bought me some!
She wears Brooks and those expensive bright Nike things now. Great North Run on Sunday.., we are heading up later today.
I've had a few pairs of Asics. Not had any serious issues with my feet with any shoes. We're all different. Running shoes can be pricey.
Have fun with the run. I'd like to do a big one like that some day, but it's a matter of getting there. The 10k I'm doing is about 1500 runners.
You're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.

It is a good start of morning with jogging, almost like a charging for hte whole day. Last few days were really wet but at least it is dry today.
