Description from Strava:
It has been a fairly warm weekend, but there have also been some heavy showers. That has not been enough to make the ground muddy, so I could use normal running shoes for parkrun. I did offer to volunteer, but they had enough people.

It was another good turnout with over 160 participants plus all the volunteers. I have had some stiffness in my left leg for a while, so I decided to not push too hard. I still ended up with a similar pace to last week, but it did not feel as quick. A bunch of us had to stop after half a lap as some vehicles drove into the campsite. The marshals usually try to avoid that by making them wait. It at least gave me a moment to catch my breath.

I had started further back than I normally do, so I had to overtake a fair few people. The course has plenty of room, so that is not difficult. On the last lap I felt I had a little more in me, so went slightly quicker and overtook a couple of people. My time was only slightly slower than last week.

It amazes me how quick some other people are. One guy who is over 70 did it in less than 24 minutes. That is impressive and gives me some home of improving.

I have been doing some swimming in our pool lately. Someone suggested trying yoga. I am thinking of getting the old Wii and Fit board out to try some of that. It is good to mix up your exercises.

We were out looking at beds and mattresses today as our mattress is pretty old. Some we saw are really expensive, but good sleep matters. Some of them are designed to keep you a little cooler and that appeals in the summer. We ended up ordering one online from Emma. I shall report on that over on Hive. My offer to create accounts for people is still open.

A 70 year old doing under 24 would get a nice age graded percentage, I hope I am moving that well when I get there.

Yeah. I can only hope I'm running well at that age. I'll keep doing it anyway.
