Description from Strava:
Yesterday I was at a company meeting in London. We ended the day at a rooftop bar overlooking St Paul's cathedral. My photo was taken as I left there to get the train home. I was in time to watch the Olympic opening. That was all very French, but I felt for them as it rained hard. Our weather is lovely.

It was still nice this morning. My other half came along to her first parkrun in a while. She has been building up on the treadmill at the gym.

The mud patch after the first corner has been filled in, so the course is even better now at Henlow Bridge Lakes. As usual I set off too quickly. I just wish I could sustain that pace for longer, but I slowed down after the first lap. A lot of people came past me, but I was doing my best. I did manage to speed up a little towards the end and ended up slightly slower than last week.

My other half came in a while later with a fair few behind her. It was a really good turnout of 179. It was pretty warm though and that can make it harder.

I need to get on with trimming our big hedge. I recently chopped the big ivy on our oak tree at its base, so that is all dying with leaves falling all over our drive. I need to sweep those up. I shall try to keep in the shade for that.

Enjoy your weekend and run free.

179 that is a big turn out, we only had 65 yesterday. I suppose the ideal summer conditions help.

Exercise in the morning is certainly very good for the body. I also used to often run in the morning

That's a great shot of St.Pauls. I like the way the developers were persuaded to leave clear lines of sight to this iconic building.
Running in this heat is not without risks. Hydrate mate. 📸😊👍🏼

There's so many tall buildings around the city now that the old stuff gets a bit hidden. It's changed so much.

I always make sure I drink, but don't tend to take water with me when running. It's not really super warm and I mostly avoid the middle of the day.
