Morning Run: Fire and fields
steevc just finished a 10.05km run, that lasted for 64 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 755.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
Last night we took the train over to Cambridge for a comedy gig by Dave Gorman. Whilst we were waiting at Hitchin station someone pointed out that there was a lot of smoke coming from somewhere up the line.
A few minutes after boarding the train we passed the source. It is a scrapyard that was burning well.
The rest of the journey was uneventful. Before the gig we got something to eat at vegan restaurant Stem and Glory. My pumpkin ravioli was nice, but other half had some issues with her veg bowl. The mushrooms were not crispy as described. They did offer to swap it, but she carried on/
They do nice desserts too.
The venue was Cambridge Junction that is near the station. I have seen some bands there and the main room is not exactly pretty, but it is adequate for comedy. It was a little warm in there and the chairs were not that comfortable. Dave was doing what will be a new series of his show Modern Life is Goodish. He did two episodes for us that they are still refining before the recording. He makes great use of Powerpoint to look into issues around the lives we lead and milks lots of humour from them. You can find some shows on Youtube. The second one used material from his last tour which we went to, but he added new stuff. I will not spoil it by revealing any details, as he requests. The train home was fine, but it was a fairly late night for us.
I was up this morning for a run and opted to head across the fields to Henlow Camp. The fields by the path to the bridge over the railway have been cleared for building, so it looks very different now. The path was quite overgrown and I had to dodge the nettles. The field beyond the old mill is a lovely shade of purple, but I am not sure what the crop is. There is a place near here that grows lavender, but it was not that.
I was finding it hard work today, but then I was still feeling the effects of parkrun. I ran back along the roads. The cows seemed to be staring at me as I passed.
I diverted to run most of the parkrun course in reverse where I was hissed at by a goose that had a gosling nearby. Then it was just a matter of getting home for nearly exactly 10km. That felt like enough.
I have some chores to do before I head to a jam session with some friends.
Run free!

Dave G is always good. I hate it when ila venue is too hot though, it makes me sleepy!
We've seen him live a few times. It helps when the comedian is near your age so you have the same references.
They age with you is definitely a good factor!
Keep going, you're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.

Once I was traveling from Kharkiv to Poltava by train. And there was an accident on a gas drilling rig very close to the railway line. The torch of fire shot out for 150-200 meters.
That must have been scary. I think this fire was away from any homes, so I hope nobody was hurt.
Fortunately, there were no buildings there. And the torch of fire burned parallel to the railway tracks. The well itself was at a distance of 300 meters from our train, but even through the glass I could feel the heat from this fire. A burning roar was also heard, as if from a jet plane. The burning lasted for at least 24 hours. Because I saw this torch in the morning. And then I saw it for the second time at night. The fire lit up the night as if it were day.
Nice run brother. Seeing fields change over time is interesting. Good luck with the chores !HUG
I sent 1.0 HUG on behalf of @theringmaster.

Sounds like a good time..except that fire but glad it seemed to be away from the house. Jealous you're able to run right now. My left knee is swollen so taking some time off for that to heal up.
Hope you're back to running soon.
I’ve never traveled by train before
I can’t wait to get that done someday
Really? Are there no trains where you are? I use them all the time.

The Value Plan, as it stands, seems to be a one-sided relationship with the HIVE platform, where the benefits are one-way. It's akin to a one-sided friendship, where one party continuously takes without giving back.
The issues of downvotes and the farming situation on HIVE are significant concerns that need to be addressed, those with more power, are creating an imbalance in the community. The genuine HIVE community, which values fairness and equality, do not support such practices most are afraid to speak up. However, the current structure appears to be enabling these bad activities, making it challenging to bring about change.
The misuse of power and the squandering of HIVE funds on trash are concerning. These actions not only undermine the integrity of HIVE but also dishearten the genuine community members who are committed to its growth and development.
If one is backing this 'trashy' plan, they are, directly or indirectly, contributing to the problems on HIVE. It's crucial to understand that every action has a consequence, and supporting such plans can lead to a further imbalance in the community will lead to a lower HIVE PRICE LESS USERS. Instead, it would be more beneficial to focus on promoting fairness, transparency, and real community-driven development.
Running, theatre play, vegan restaurant (I haven't been to one in a long time), green landscapes, beautiful flowers and cows. Dude, this is the life!
And the dessert... it looks great.
