steevc just finished a 7.17km run, that lasted for 44 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 532.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
It has been a bit warm here this week. I am glad of our pool and have had a few swims. That may help my general fitness, but it is nice to just cool off. The heat can make it hard to sleep and last night was not great, but the day started overcast and a little cooler for my run.

I did the usual loop around Fairfield without pushing too hard. I did try to get a bit more speed coming down the hill, but overall it was slower than some recent runs.

Just opposite West Drive is a new bicycle shop that seems to be mainly about repairs and servicing. The sign has already lost a letter as it should be D & D Cycles.

I went around the back of that block to extend the run a little. It was still warm enough for me to be sweating well. I may be in the pool again later. It is forecast to be a little cooler at the weekend.

We had an issue with our solar panels this week. On Saturday the generation suddenly went to nothing. I got onto the installers and the inverter company. I had a suggestion to check the circuit breakers. They fitted some new ones for this system and one of them had tripped. It is working again now, but I need to watch out for that happening again. Our electricity supplier Octopus are cutting prices next month. If you are looking to switch then use this link as we can both get a reward if you join them. They are pretty good generally and committed to more use of renewables and electric cars.

Run free!

Do you have issues with your solar panels regularly?
My parents stopped using their because it has issues every now and then…

This is our first issue and it's all okay now. The system is quite new and will take a few years to pay for itself.

Maybe a troll or an ogre stole the D from the D&D sign 😀

Someone I know makes pretty D&D dice. People are willing to pay a lot for them.

I am not surprised, I used to be quite proud of mine when I played all the role playing games back in the day!

A bit of cloud cover makes it a lot easier to run. Love the bike shop window, though it looks a bit aged for a new shop, on a good way. Guess it's the aesthetic they were going for.

There's a bit of a retro thing going on. My bike probably needs a service, but I don't use it much.

I often wonder why our caloric burns are so different. Perhaps it is because I am roughly 20kg heavier than you and therefore the metrics that are used to determine calorie burn are going to be higher for me since I am carrying around so much more weight. When running I can understand this calculation because it just makes sense that I would have to work harder than you since I weigh more, but on a bicycle I think the readouts are probably trash because the technology is helping you move as fast or slow as you want. I'll have to do some reading up on this.

I only say this because if I do a run similar to the one that you just did here it would say that I burned 8-900 calories.

I don't pay too much attention to the calories. I thought I managed about 1000 for a 10k run, but it seems to be less. It must be based on some combination of weight and pace, but it must vary by other factors too.
