Morning Run: parkrun 113 at Henlow Bridge Lakes
steevc just finished a 4.97km run, that lasted for 28 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 367.0 calories.
Description from Strava:
The weather has improved a bit this week so it was looking nice out this morning. If anything it is warmer than I like for running, but I like to do my parkrun. I had heard that the Letchworth run was off due to an issue with their land permissions, so I was expecting us to have more runners.
As usual I met up with some people I know at the start. There was a big crowd with a fair few kids and dogs. I just set off at my usual pace as I know I cannot keep up with the quick ones. The course was pretty good with just a couple of muddy patches where water runs through. I had my trail shoes on anyway.
As always it was hard work for me, but I just kept on pushing. By the last lap I was easing off a little. I can see from Strava that the first couple of km were quick for me, but I cannot sustain that pace. There were people coming past me and I overtook some, but we each run our own race. At the end I managed a bit of a sprint and came in just ahead of another regular in 54th place out of 148. That is a lot more than we usually get. I almost matched my best time of the year.
There were some sweet treats at the finish as a retired couple who help out were marking their 100th volunteering session. I went for a coffee with some of the others at the camp shop. I also had a chat with a guy from work who does not normally run there.
I walked and jogged home via a shop to pick up a paper. I need to get out in the garden as we are preparing the area where we will have the pool this year. It needs levelling.
It should be another good day for solar power. The battery is all charged up, so we will be feeding the grid. Look out for another Hive post about that.

It really is a lovely day, but I get hot when I run.

Have you seen any instance in which someone brought his or her dog to the park and didn’t chain it?
What does that have to do with anything?
I feel some runners may be scared of dogs especially when they are not chained
The dogs there were all on leads.

Run free!! I have just bought a new pair of trainers for the running. Had a nice one today!
Good for you. The weather is improving now, but I try to keep it going through the winter. I'm no fair weather runner :)
Ty yeah, I always quit in winter. The cold just hurts!
