The ray of hope from Xavi is now vanishing.
Last night there was first La Liga match for both Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano aganist each other at Spotify Camp Nou. No team were able to seand the ball in oppposition net, and hence the match result in goal less drawn. Barcelona were unable to win the match with 70% ball possession and 21 shots. Though Barcelona played well, I can't understand some decision of Xavi.
I still can't understand how Pedri, Busquets and Gavi trio become the midfield starter of Barcelona while there is players like Frenkie de Jong, Kessie in the bench. What a bad selection from Xavi. I was too hoped about Xavi when he was signed. But the ray of that hope is now grwoing out day by day because of foolish decision Xavi. Pedri is so much talented and has some great experience with Barcelona and Spain national team. He might be a starter. I am confused about two other midfield starter of Barcelona. I wonder how Busquets be a starter now! Nio doubts, he is a great midfielder, he is too good in ball possession, I am very much confused to see his defending ability now. He is now out of his fuel. He can't be a regular starter. Gavi has much talent but still he is now unexperienced and must learn more about football. I have no question about his talent, but still you can't choose him as a starter. he might be supersub.
Frenkie is the engine room of power house of Barcelona midfielder now. But Xavi benched him. In last match, when Frenkie came on the field at 60 minutes, he has shown why he might be a regular starter.
The front trio combining Lewa-Dembele-Raphinha was good select as I think. But I wonder to see Araujo at the right back. He is good at defending in this positionn though he is a CB, But he is not perfect at this position. When the opposition had a good winger, Xavi can use Araujo to prevent them, as it was seen against Real Madrid last season. But I wonder why Araujo was set there.
I am very upset to see Xavi's decision. I don't know what is waiting in front of us in near future.
I think it's too early to go after Xavi for now, he's got a lot of players he needs to test and that's going to take some matches and definitely also going to affect some results.
I am not against his tactics. I am criticise only his player choose. I can't reliase why he choose Gavi and Busquets as a starter while there are Frenkie in the bench. How he can use Araujo in the right back?
The more reason why I said he's still testing waters; you don't just expect him to have his first eleven right away or almost immediately.
A goalless draw in just the first game is not the end of the world. The new players need time to understand how the team plays.

Frenkie is embroiled in transfer saga for now, he will possibly leave. No point starting a player that will eventually leave before the end of Transfer Window. Araujo has player right back before, that's not the first time.
In pre-season, Araujo have played many games in RB position. He is good at defending at this position. But not above average in offensive. Moreover this positioning is not soo good in this position. If they sell Frenkie, it will cause a big harm to Barcelona. Frenkie is the power house of Barca midfield.
Frenkie was the powerhouse when Ronald Koeman, his compatriot, was manager. Xavi definitely believes in Gavi and Pedri.
Araujo is definitely not the ideal right back, but Sergino Dest isn't doing much to cement his place in the team.

The start was a draw as a bad result ... but its timing is now in order to learn what is to come ... and the most important fact is that Vallecano played a big match and better than what was expected ... unlike Barca, who was exaggeratedly patient in the match....
