Laporte is playing high risk gambling with Barcelona.
Isn't Juan Laporte playing a high risk gambling now with Barcelona? It is true that he is doing his best to get barca back in the main track where they really deserve, but it is matter of thinking about the way he is using to do so whether it will be good or bad for him and his team and obviously for Barcelona.
Just months ago, Barcelona was seemed to do nothing in transfer market because of their financial crisis. Nobody hoped they can sign players like Lewandoski, Raphinha, Kounde etc. But they remove all of the obstackle and sign some good players spending more than 150 million euro. But where they got that money? They got almost 600 million euro by selling their LaLiga tv rights to sixth street for 25 years. Now they are on the way to activate their third economic levers by selling the 49% share of Barca studios.
It means in upcoming years their income from this two sources will reduce dramatically. So they must recover their income in upcoming years from other sources. But it is a matter of big concern that they can recover that from other sources. If their signing got successful by winning more trophies in upcoming years and increase their income from other sources such as: sponsorship, ticket, jersey etc. they can recover that well. But if that don't happen how can Barca survive when they have already debt of almost 1.5 billion euro?
I think Laporte should go front slow and steady to survive the situation of Barcelona that he heired to from Bartomeu. Laporte focused only on the present but not so far. Obviously he have made the greatest gambling with Barca. If he succeeds, he and his team will be hero, but if he lose, i don't know how Barca survive that in future.
They are already cooked and even if they win they are screwed as they have sold the shirt sponsorship and stadium name for 4 years already. There is nothing left and it is getting worse as the debt spirals out of control. Last month he said they would reduce their wage bill by 160 million euros but even that figure was out by 250 million Euros of what their real budget is.
