Few days ago, an auto driver won a million of Indian rupee by playing fantasy sports. He bet for Rs.39 and won a million in the ipl cricket match. Since the inception of ipl there are many such stories of people become rag to riches. Ipl does help the cause by allowing people to gamble on the game.
Ipl not only gave new platform to many budding cricketers by bringing them stand with many international players in common platform, but it also allow public to play virtual game of cricket and win by gambling. Try out the experince, take the risk and place the bet. If you get lucky you might be richer overnight. This is shortcut which hardly pays off unless and untill you are blessed and born lucky.

Dream11 was a phenomenon started a few years ago, initiating with a large validity -at least by the name of pleasure sports. Yet betting in casino or the local spot circling the IPL season emerged back on the older days of early 10's.
Although I dont find betting on frequent occasions useful, because risk is attached to losing more than winning. At least, winning may give pleasure and delightful satisfaction, but losing would kill the spirits, 😄..
One thing I liked about dream11 is that they have certain section of prize money which ensures guaranteed return of at least your bet amount.

Wow Fantasy IPL would be crazy. We have "Supercoach" in Australia for Rugby League and Aussie Rules Football. Great banter amongst mates and in the office every week. Also makes games very interesting!
In my opinion, Supercoach is the best fantasy sports platform for cricket. It's aimed far more at the hardcore fan than platforms like Dream11 which have made their game easier to play which allows more people to enjoy but does dilute the challenge in my opinion.
My then 8-year-old son was actually the overall top points scorer in Supercoach BBL 2020/21 season in one of the game weeks. Shame we don't live in Australia so he couldn't claim the prize! As you can imagine, he has to watch a lot of cricket in my household so he knows he stuff!

It is amazing how many new companies seem to be springing up every IPL season to offer fantasy sports. There seem to be at least 4 or 5 advertised by the individual franchises themselves.
It'd be great to get more fantasy leagues on Hive.
We've just started @hivefpl this season and have 100+ people in our fantasy league but I'm never sure if there are enough cricket lovers on the blockchain to run something similar for the IPL.
On a slightly separate note, I promote my IPL match previews heavily via my own website and it generates a lot of traffic from India (I'd estimate i'll get around 1 million views in 2023 from India alone).
