Can India Repeat the 2011 Glory? ICC World Cup 2023

Whenever, Indians talks about the Cricket world Cup, two images flashes in everyone mind. Firstly, Kapil Dev holding the winning Cup in 1983 at England Lord's ground and Secondally, M.S Dhoni finishing off 2011 final with a magnificent shot over the ground at Mumbai, Wankhede stadium. India team once again start their campaign for the One Day International World Cup in 2023 having some home advantages.

Home Advantages

Lately home advantages worked well for the host. Once M.S.Dhoni led Indian team lifted the trophy in 2011, since then Australia and England also repeated the same feet. Australia winning their fifth title at Melbourne ground in 2015 and then England ending years of incompetence by winning the world cup at Lord's ground in 2019. So last three tournaments had been won by the host nation. This definatelly making a billion hope to see India repeating the feet once again in 2023 final.

It is too early to say anything about the final outcome. The first match of the ODI World Cup kicked off today with defending champion England taking on NewZealand. There are lot of competition around each of the participating team are true professional and know how to win a match from any situation.

Can India repeat the home advantage?

India starts the 2023 world cup tournament as favourites. Looking at the home advantage and also their build up for the tournament, and return of form of some key players. Seems to be an easy game for the team. The team is approaching the game on a positive note they have the Asia cup win recently and again winning the home series against Australia.
The cloud hovering over some of the injured players has also cleared. K.L.Rahul, Shreya Iyer, are strong middle order batsman and return to squad after injury. They are going into the tournament with each of them cracking century. Jasprit Bhumrah, the key Indian spearhead in bowling department has also shown some good sign and ready to go for the big event.

The Squad

India seems to have found a strong squad for the tournament. They have a good composition of world class players. While there are some renowned inform batters, they have good left arm and right arm spinners. They also have a good all-rounder who can take the match of his own heroics. The squad is currently ticked in every department which has raised the expectation bars for billion of people.

India start the world cup 2023 campaign against Australia at Chennai on Sunday. The final of the tournament will be played at Ahmedabad on November 19. So we have some gruelling weeks of competitive cricket played over 9 cities in next 36 days.
