The Friday Hivechess Tournament is back - Start of Season 12 tomorrow!

Dear chess fans!

The prices from the Hivechess Candidates Tournament (i.e. S11) were in the meantime sent to to all players.
In total (rounded up) 508 Hive have accumulated in the pricepool account (see screenshot), so if one substracts the registration fees, the price sum was a whopping 387 Hive (incl. 9 Hive from registration fee penalties) and distributed among 13 participants - a record (last season 477 Hive were distributed, but among 40 participants). The @chesspricepool account is now under power down, to be used in season 13 again.
Luckily I had converted most of the HBD at an convenient exchange rate, when I got >2 Hive per HBD.

After the break Season 12 will start this Friday 3^th Jun, 19h GMT (at the usual time)! It will go over 10 rounds and will be conducted in the classical way, like seasons 1 to 10, so no registration fee and you can join anytime. However, please note that you need to participate in 40% of the tournaments (i.e. at least 4) in order to qualify for prices! Other than that, the rules are pretty much as previously. The percentage of post rewards feeding the price pool stays at 70% and the @badge-646464 account will be again used to accrue the post rewards, so you can anytime check the size of the pricepool for yourself here. All what is there, goes to the S12 prices, minus (as of today) 149,9 Hive (those are still from the pricepool of S10 which I had laid out)! Once that power down from S10 is complete (in 4 weeks), it will be more easy to track. Again I encourage any tournament or streaming report to set @badge-646464 as e.g. 10% beneficiary, because it is the tournament who made the report possible in first place, right? As always, any curation rewards of @badge-646464 will of course also go to the price pool!

As always, we will have varying time formats, as a starter we will do a rather fast one!
Time Mode: 3+1 (3 minutes per game, 1 sec. increment), 60 min arena mode, no streaks

RULES

• For Hivers, Steemians, Blurters, noise.cashers and all others!
• Players of all skill levels are welcome, from newbies to experts, you just need a free Lichess-account!
• Every Friday is one round
• Time mode is varying (5+0, 3+2,...), rated, berserking allowed (except in Swiss mode)
• The winner of each round gets the number of points equaling the number of players in that round, the second ranked one point less and so forth until the one on the bottom of the table who gets one point. In order to be counted, at least 3 games must have been played.
• Occasionally a round may be divided into 2 skill classes
• In case two players have the same number of points, the one who played less rounds is first. If that is equal too, then the average tournament performance decides.
• PAYOUT: This season goes over 10 rounds and the tournament points are summed up. All Hivechess-related post rewards are pooled and 70% go to the price pool (PP). The tournament winner will get 40 Hive as bonus, the runner-up 15, and the rest of the PP is divided among all players equally (30%) and according to the number of tournament points achieved (70%). 50% participation is required in order to qualify for the prices.
• There will be a special price of 15 Hive for the highest performance in relation to the own rating (counted by averaging the rating after the first and the last round)
• If I don´t know your Hive username, I can´t consider you in the final rankings, so please let me know your Hive name in the comments!
• If you have not yet joined our team in Lichess, please do it here, so that you can participate (required for the Swiss tournaments only).

Did you participate already 10 times in any of the Hivechess tournaments?
Then you can CLAIM YOUR BADGE! On peakd.com I had created the "Hivechess Valued Player" badge that is earned after joining in 10 of the events. It is a "living" badge, i.e. not participating for several months results in losing it.
Currently these 30 chess players are carriers of that honorary badge. If you think you qualify for it, please let me know!
