Please post your result after the game in the Lichess team chat (typically only the winner posts).
RULES
- Registration fee was 10 Hive (registration is closed, but you can register already for the next HCT!). At the end of the tournament you will get it back unless:
- Not showing up at one tournament day forfeits not only the games of that day (i.e. counted as losses), but also 2 Hive of your registration fee (missing one game only costs 0,5 Hive)
- Every Friday 4 to 5 rounds are played, every 15 minutes, according to the schedule announced in the reminder posts; showing not up within 5 minutes forfeits the game
- The player with the White pieces always starts the game
- The time mode is 5+1. Players can agree upfront to a different (time) format (e.g. 3+2 Chess 960), but the game should not take more than 15 minutes!
- Please post all your results in the team chat
- The winner of each match gets 1 point, a draw gives half a point, all points are summed up and the player with the highest total score is the champion
- In case two players have the same number of points, the direct match(es) count. In case this is draw, the one with the more wins scores higher. In case this is equal too, the Neustadtl Sonneborn–Berger score will be applied.
- PAYOUT: 70% of all tournament-related post rewards (and the penalties of missing participations) go to @chesspricepool. The tournament winner will get 30 Hive, the runner-up 10 and the rest of the PP is divided among all players equally (50%) and according to the number of tournament points achieved (50%).
How to challenge a player and kick off a game?
1.Click on the magnifier symbol on the upper right corner of the Lichess site.
2.Type your opponent´s Lichess name (it´s not case sensitive) and click on the "challenge" symbol on the hovering menu!
3.A menu pops up. Ensure that "standard", the correct time format and "rated" is set (unless both players agree upfront otherwise).
4.Once all is set correctly, click on the White king, to start the challenge. As soon as your opponent accepts the challenge, the game starts.
See you tomorrow and Good luck to All!
Also of note, TODAY the first round of the 2022 Superbet Chess Classic Romania is played!
These 10 Top players are competing:
For season 13, would you prefer to do again a round robin tournament or do you want to switch back to the classical arena format?
They told me if I killed myself now it would save the lives of countless others.
Saying the longer I wait to kill myself the more people will suffer.
They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Your stay in prison will not be fun @battleaxe and friends. People are going to want you dead when they find out what you did. I hope you die a slow painful death. You sick mother fuckers.
https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?
Yay! This season is almost ending. It has been fun. I vote for a repeat of the candidate tournament. I love it.
Omg! I have @jaki01 to play tomorrow :)
To be honest, it is not my cup of tea,
I find it somewhat hectic to challenge opponents, wait for them to finally appear and start, partly already get new challenges while the old game is still running. Also some players seem never to report their results.
I would like it if one could automate the process, but not in the current form.
However, that's only my personal impression which should not influence the overall decision too much. If the majority likes this kind of candidate tournaments, then just lets do it.
Lol, try to be there on time this time! :)
P.S.: another disadvantage in my opinion is that the majority of games are between opponents with a huge rating difference. A solution would be to make groups of players with similar ratings.
You are right. The results could be easily predicted. I actually chose a repeat because I didn't enjoy some of my matchups.
I would (nice word play!)
Fair point. Yes, skill leagues would be a solution, but also create nearly the double amount of work for the organizer!
I would want the same format as of now. But one suggestion that the players should get more time to play before Friday e.g It can start 2-3 days earlier.
What do you mean, to play on Wed. instead? Or send out the reminder sooner, so that the players can arrange a time for the games by themselves?
Yes, the later one i.e players can play earlier and report the results (maybe with the game link).
Oh time flies really fast! I like this new format but many players missed the tournament. What if we play the usual arena tournaments and after X rounds X players go to the final candidate tournament?
Interesting idea! So e.g. the 10 best players would do a play-off in form of a round robin! I will think about it!
Exactly! It's like combining the best if two worlds ;)
for me, the main thing is time, and the second factor is the type of game. The desire to play fast - %5, to consider the same openings - %5, that is, in 190% I want to play rapid-960 and the remaining 50 variants of chess))
Go go go @falcout, we're cheering for ya!

😅
get ready for 1/2+10=960
I don't even know how to play 960, I'd rather do normal
1 pose out of 960 is not normal, there will be a tournament in 25 minutes, you can try
https://www.chess.com/live#t=3126450
I'm sure I'll lose even classic game, so let's try 960.
now, by the way, it will be possible to practice

Also the "closed" as you call it, is open for all, if you register in time.
But if i could not register for the first round and that is why did not pay fee 10 hive,it looks that i need to wait untill all this current HCT will end. So for me it is closed. It was open until first round. But let it be, i just wait for the next tourney.
Yes, unfortunately, there was only one week chance to register. Once the tournament started there is no way to join anymore.
I will extend this period next time (if it will be a round robin again).
The HCT tournament was great! There were a little confusion with the challenges and the names at first. But I had an opportunity to defeat all the top players which was important :). I know they all got away with wins so far but there are some impressive names on my schedule for tomorrow.
Note; I can’t defeat these players if I don’t play them (lol)
