Players can switch between the tournament tiers in case their rating changes! A rating in Italic indicates that this player is in "danger" of changing tiers! After this round no changes in rating&performance as bullet ratings don´t matter.
For the detailed rules please refer to the announcement post.
No big changes this time. Just 2 rounds to go and the ones who participate more often clearly have a strong advantage to win prizes later. E.g. in tournament 2 and 3 it seems that only 3 players are interested to make it to the podium.
See you all next week - and keep practicing!
If I would have known earlier, this round would have been a Chess960 one, because yesterday also the FREESTYLE CHESS G.O.A.T. CHALLENGE started, a Fischer Random chess tournament with a classical time control located in a German luxury resort in Weissenhaus, at the Baltic Sea!
The 8 players in the event are no less than Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Ding Liren, Alireza Firouzja, Vincent Keymer, Nodirbek Abdusattorof, Dommaraju Gukesh and Levon Aronian. Excitement is guaranteed!

After day 1 of the play-in round robin the local hero Vincent Keymer took down Magnus Carlsen and leads with 3,4/4 and Ding Liren lost all his games, more info here.

Many many congratulations to the winner.
Many good games, happy to be back. @eniolw nice trap you made me with the posioned pawn, keeping my bishop away from blocking your open pawn. Classic trap for bullets.
Sorry for the late response. Haha, yes, I tried my best. Sorry about that, we need to score.
We sure do 👍
Congratulations @samostically !!!
Wish I had managed to be awake, was looking forward to this 2x1.
@stayoutoftherz probably next week we can do 960 as the freestyle will continue till then I believe.
How do all of you play 960? What is it that you consider before the first move. I am lost in that format hence asking? I feel it will be fun to have a tactical match in 960 but am scared of the first couple of moves to make as i am not entirely sure what yardstick to use.
Thank you!
Personally, I just look at the opponent king's position and mine first. Then I try to develop my pieces. Sometimes, some pieces are not very logical to develop because of the positions they are placed (starting positions I mean).
Overall, 960 is interesting because it questions what you know in chess.
That's exactly what I am scared of --- it will show what I don't know in chess :D
But on a serious note, thanks, that helps to starting the thinking process for sure.
Indeed, let´s have a 960 next week 😄!
Congrats to all the winners and thanks for organising. Have a great weekend.
A big congratulations to the winner
