S. Ogier tested with Toyota ahead of WRC Rally Mexico 2023
Hi, friends!
I must say that drivers all around the World Rally Championship service park are having a sign of relief because there is no more two Sebs - Ogier and Loeb. They have won 17 championships together from 2004 and you can count how much of these were for the other drivers - only two.
Ott Tanak won the crown in 2019 and only because Ogier had a bad car in Citroen C3 WRC which was something not improvable because they tested and made lots of evolution and they were still behind Toyota, even with the driver of caliber like Seb Ogier is.
Kalle Rovanpera took the title last season in the first season with Ogier not doing the full season. I would say that this is the reason why he won it beside all the qualities young Finnish ace for sure have.
So seb Ogier is in his 2nd part time season, this time with Vincent Landais as a co-driver (first rally for them was WRC Rally Japan at the end of last season). They already have one win together - at Monte Carlo Rallye this season which is the most precious event for any driver around.
Now when they broke the duck together, they can go to Mexico completely relaxed and for another win. Because of the testing outside of Europe is prohibited from the FIA (just to reduce the costs because all the teams are for Europe), Toyota decided to test in Spain on the surface very similar to the one you can find in Mexico.
We have a video from the test. Watch the eight-time WRC champion in action and learn from him. Please enjoy... :)
